Ouch! Didn't you go down to the local watering hole and hire the local water witch? Or did you?

Welcome to home ownership. Every project that requires money goes like that. Actually times 5 if your wife's decision is involved.

Actually both had water. One was the water line for the house which has multiple check valves and actually still had water in it. The other was the water main at my office. Work dudes made fun of me so after some peer pressure I went and did my witchery. Couple days later the public utilities guys were out there and I asked where the water line was... I was dead on.

^^^Nice!
You'd better watch out. If you run into the wrong people and they find out about your water wizardry, they might burn you at the stake.

Mbillie's thread bump reminded me I should give you kooks an update. Been a busy spring/summer/fall. As many of you might remember, the home we purchased was a foreclosure with contested water supply that had been unoccupied (by humans, not rodents) for at least 2 years. And the house was poorly maintained for at least 10. So lots of work to do.
Lots of garbage to deal with.
This must be the sweat equity they keep talking about. The bank paid a trashout services to empty the house but they did a poor job. We discovered the attic still had stuff in it.
We drilled a well.
Installed some utilities
Replaced a relay
Cleaned and sealed the water tank. (1200 gallons gravity fed to house = water for quite a while with no power.)
Occasionally we got to enjoy the property, not just work on it.
Went for some backyard hikes
meh.
Ski terrain this winter?
Rented some equipment
Made room for a (future) shop/garage.
May as well rent a dozer too.
I have so much room for car projects now.
Fall is here. Time to wrap up the outdoor projects and turn the efforts inside (and toward skiing.)

Very nice Leavenworth.
I'm trying desperately to finish a garage this fall so I can move a bunch of shit to Colorado.

It's been hard fought.
Yep. See you in April or May, right?
It's all 3 for sure. Stoked beyond belief.
Thanks.
I get that. Up at 6am this morning to try and get some more projects done before winter fully sets in.
