Great trip. Avoided marauding 'coons with better outside the camper hygiene than the guys next door. Next time will only bring one roasting stick, jerky, 8 pack of Bar-S', white boat dog, dozen dark olive mini low-fats, and no changes of clothes.

Thanks to Bob and SFB for another excellent trip! Looking forward to next round of Fonts heroics later this month. SFB calling out "Redd Raper 1, this is Redd Raper 2" to the Kenai Combat Crews is spot on.

Just so everyone knows, Bob is a HUDGE FLY FISHERMAN!

Guess I'll still bring the elk. But only one roasting stick so SFB can go Bear Grillz style.

The witty jokes and poses are the only thing in my repertoire so far, they're a lot easier to pick up than the casting.

Drafts of beer or some canasta, you're set here.

Still on for last weekend in Oct! Daddy Issues, Mini Low Fats, or your choice of bugs/ slimey things to chuck! Bringing the fifth wheel and clack (if I don't pile it up dragging it all donkey train style).

Looks like the Fugitive and crew are in as well. They were wondering if we wanted in on meal planning, but I let them know of our hot dog/beef jerky/dirt dietary plans.

I'm going to fly fish the shit out of that river this time! (I'm also still going to bring worms.)

Wow, what a trip... I knew the weekend was going to be good when we walked into the Hamsfork liquor store/bar/drive in to have a beer and found one of the locals at the bar with a rather large shot in front of him. He asked us if "You like whiskey? Want a shot?" Lumpy demurred as we had 30 miles yet to go but I was game and helped "Rodney" with half his shot. A draft for each of us while chatting with Susie the bartender and we were off.

The fishing wasn't quite as good as usual but we still stuck a few. Lumpy kept the entire crew fed and went above and beyond. I went big Saturday, shots at 7am didn't help much. Lumpy brought the trout bugle and we bugled our way down the river. Even drunk the newbie huge fly fishing guy led the pack with three to the boat that day.

We had a bit of shenanigans on Sunday, dropped rod, the river was swam and then a snapped soldier. It was still one heck of a trip and I'm looking forward to purchasing another non-resident Wyoming fishing license next season.

Great trip, good to meet new folks and fish with them. Couple of pics of Party Central and our 1-beer, 1/2-shot of given liquor at the best little bar in Kemmerer.

By the way, the 2-day double shots of Imodium and red wine abuse just wore off as I was reading through the Tenkara thread.

Looking forward to more Bird Dog-Trout Bugles, Puppystuff, double xl hooters at dawn, meat chucking, Huge flyfishing adventures and campfire hijinx next year.

Edit-I'm considering never wearing any more Simms gear on these trips (all STP purchased at almost sane prices, where they usually have good stuff for pLumpy folks) for fear of being "that guy". Forgot to dole out the Nate Karnass stickers, so they'll be in the mini-mo'ship for next spring.

Sorry I missed this. I met and fell hard for a fisher person of the female persuasion a few months ago. Unfortunately, for my local fishing she resides in the land of Underoos. So I have been making the trek to Colorado every spare moment.

Good work! Maybe bring her along? I will hold my farts and keep offensive comments to a minimum.

HOHOHO!!!! New Sage One 9'6" 7wt in the mail from Ebay for 4/20/18 long distance streamer chukking. Going to relegate the 10" 6-wt Z-axis to slutting out the squirmy wormy now! Now, guaranteed to break both rods in one trip since they are over $150 each.

Not trying to sound like a know-it-all here (yeah, right), and it depends on personal preference, but you might regret that extra six inches. (insert penis joke here) (insert penis insertion joke here).

Seriously, though. For years I fished a 9’9” streamer rod until I saw the light and went shorter. Look at the Bank Robber rods, aren’t they all short? Think about it like swing weight with skis.

What advantage does the extra length give you?

Sorry to rain on your parade. Likely not a big deal anyway.

Now Snapped can chime in with his gear nerd wizardry to shut me down.

No I get where you are coming from. Not sure I've seen a Bank Robber in a 7wt though. Been going longer and lighter for years now (tapping into my late 1980's Rossi teal green 4S mode) , but anything over 9'6" is cumbersome in the boat. I'm a Galloup fan, and if they make a 7wt Bank Robber I'd be on it. Just have only seen up to 9ft. 6 wts. Plus I gots 6 mo' inches above Dibs' head not to hook him, Bob, or Fishdog with a 5 inch articulated!

Also like the extra length for single spey with correct line when I want it.

Edit-Wyoming 2018 outa' state bought and paid for. See you Mooks on 4-20!!!!

    Comes in 5-8 wt.

My friend has the 7 and I have fished it a bunch. Great rod, but I would buy the 8 for me.

Well...F me. I never did the research to find out better. I just want a launch pad and a crutch for my bad casting! And, if anyone does the research, I usually had Pocket Rockets, so go figure. Couldn't pry that last pair of wrapped 185's outs Meatdrink's hand for all the money I had at the time though!
