Counted my Twins out after a disastrous west coast swing. They become sellers, then they go on a bit of a run and are back in the wild card mix. Dozier getting his post All Star game HR mojo back again. Just took two from the Brewers, now two there in a home and home. Time for TC the Bear to work that HR slide in Milwaukee.

Good for him. Like I said, he's a great player. Was not a good clubhouse guy in NY.

Colón. WTF? A second or third coming. Three good outings in a row for the old man. Twins kinda back in the mix.

Geez I'm already going next Sunday (the 20th) and the following Saturday or I would. Sounds like fun seats.

Felix back on the DL. Honestly he has contributed so little this season I don't think it will have a huge effect. But if they do manage to make it to the playoffs it would be nice to have him on the active roster.

If you were unconvinced that Jeff Wilpon was an idiot before this, this trade should do it.

Seriously. A power hitter with 25 HR, and hitting around .275 to help off the bench situationally and while Brantley and Chisenhall are on the DL for a fucking single A pitching prospect?

Not even a mention of a reach around either.

..and if history is any indication, he'll actually improve on those numbers once he's free of the Mets.

That would be tough to do. He was already having damn near a career year. Man, the Mets front office is incompetent.

It's admittedly a small sample of games so far but Duda hit .246 with the Mets and he's now .313 with 10HR's in 11 games w/ the Rays.

Truth in advertising, I forgot the Astros were in the west. I was just looking at the other 3 also rans. My bad, but I do hope they make it in as long as it is not at the expense of the Sox.

That's a good signing. I have always liked Bruce. Not his old self, but a can be a dangerous at-bat.

I've liked Bruce from his days in Cincy. The unbelievably low price they got him for as a replacement OF is crazy.

    Thanks Mets, I guess...

Mets are pathetic right now. Like embarrassing. That was a quick and drastic fall...what was it, 2 or 3 years?

As a Mets fan -- stop laughing -- I know that the truth is, there was very little market for Bruce. Yes, he's a "slugger" that looks good by old school stats, but not by advanced ones. And is owed a few million dollars. I don't really think they had a lot of choices.

And every single player they've traded was due to be a FA after the season, but they still have all their top pitchers and a lot of good young guys. I predict they're back strong next year.
