Does REI really do codes? Other than the occasional REI outlet sale code?

For a bike rack from there, your best bet might be to wait for the periodic Thule or Yakima sales - 15-20% off when they happen. Sometimes Yakima runs rebates that you can stack with those sales.

When I bought my bike rack, I found places whose regular prices were cheaper than REI with 20% discount. I think I got my Thule from Brands Cycle and Fitness.

I’ve seen some one off codes but I don’t think they’re too common. I was thinking of getting the Küat Sherpa 2.0, which don’t seem to be on sale anywhere. I’d normally wait for one of the seasonal sales, but I’d like to use it next weekend.

I was also considering the 1up racks that everyone on here seems to like. Not sure if it would be delivered by next weekend though. It looks like they only make double racks for 2 inch hitches, so I guess I’d need to get the single plus an add-on for my 1.25? Probably a better question for a different thread.

Call 1up, they have always answered the phone when I called and are super helpful. If they have the item in stock they can get it out same day, shipped from WI.

Sounds like you need it sooner FF, but i second this.

I picked up a double Thule sidearm hitch mount that had a cracked tray (30 bucks to fix, or ziptie it) for $49 vs $499.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the 1up. I called and talked with someone for a bit, sounds like it should be here in time. Fingers crossed. The REI sale would be a good option too but I really need something sooner since I don’t have any rack at all at the moment. Thanks for the help.

Black Diamond has a sale going on now through 1/31, 20% off anything (I think) in their sale page with code NEWGEAR19. They've got some 2nd's on current models, and models from a couple years back. Can get some Helio's down around $400. I'm not sure when they switched over their models to the Blizzard factory so can't speak to durability on some of these, but worth a look.
