Great day as always. Taking the longboards into the stunt ditch caused quite a few confused looks from the normal park rats.

Padded seats were awash with colors

    Jtgoat ripping down lower Nash

ACH with the usual good form.

Super fun day. Thanks to Seatown for manning the grill and delivering the goods to keep us full.

This is so awesome. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to attend the festivities next year.

Down Nash several times before he had to leave early. You'll have to bring your speed skis next year

The dude definitely got fuckin owned by those 240s, many times. But he also kept up with the group as it lurched around. I thought he looked dazed at the end of the day... happy to be alive kinda grin.

I do not doubt it in the least. Shit oh dear, back when I raced a bit there was a couple of guys who did a lap or 2 on the KL sticks just cause, but that was in the days of free skiing on your 225's (like as your all rounder). That dude deserves some kind of lifetime achievement award. Or some bacon.

2017 Long Board Day - Alpental - Suturday, April 22nd

My recent experience going back to straight skis leads me to say, hats off to you MFers who were rocking the long boards-- not sure how the fuck we ever skied before radiused skis came about!

I missed yet another LBD, maybe next year

That will get you in the women's division at Alpental

2017 Long Board Day - Alpental - Suturday, April 22nd

My slaloms were 205s but I'm still mystified as to how I was able to ski them

I was 5"11 and 145# at the time. Coach said I loaded a ski like most guys with 4 years and 40 pounds on me. I did just fine.

Top 5s for my age group in the province several times in several disciplines.

Super G was my best event.

God damn it's already beginning to smell like EpicSki around here.

Yah. But downhillers don't actually have to know how to carve a ski.

They're like the park rats of the race world.

Come out and play, there were plenty of unclaimed skis waiting for a shot at glory.

More pics later. I think I actually caught mofro skiing, not just a blur as he went by

Nowhere near Alpentel. But I do the longboard days around here, usually dressed in my stuffed dragon onesy pajamas.

    Obermeyer.
I raced 207 in slalom, 210-215 in gs and 215 in DH circa 1972.
