    replacement glass for sunroof

I have a beater Subaru(1999 Forester) that has a Webasto aftermarket sunroof. The glass broke and the model has been discontinued. I have tried a few auto body shops, windshield glass shops and regular glass shops and nobody has an answer. Does anyone have any ideas? I am not opposed to covering it but most of the web searches are for carbon fiber plugs or re-skinning the roof, I just want to have it not leak while my kids drive the car into the ground. I don't think the plastic bag or gorilla tape is a long term solution. Thanks in advance for the wisdom.

A 1-second Google search reveals that Webasto still stocks all the parts you need:

Assuming Webasto has no more parts, maybe just skin it over with sheet metal, automotive urethane adhesive, and a few pop rivets? Would look like hell, but its a beater car. For the extra classy touch, cut the patch out of the roof of the same paint color forrester from a junkyard.

Otherwise, find the next largest size sunroof and cut the opening larger.

PS - I would not do Lexan or any covering panel without a few mechanical fasteners (or spot welds). If your glue fails you could kill someone on the highway.

absolutely; few too many last night when I typed and assumed it would be popped/mech fastened down - can't assume on the interwebs. Lexel alone is strong as hell but not safe for highway speeds at temp fluctuations.

Rivet the patch in place, then seal the roof with bedliner. Do the whole roof in white for that expedition over landing look.
