Best Cottonwood Canyon lesson for 3 1/2 year old

So my 3 1/2 year old boy has been doing pretty well in these hybrid day care / lesson programs they have in Vermont. Basically they are a full day daycare with a one to 2 hour lesson in the morning and afternoon, length depending on how well the little groms are doing with the weather, paying attention, etc.

He's done 4 days now and is having fun with it, the other day he told me he didn't want to go to regular school, he wanted to go to ski school. Dad understood and was proud.

I was looking to see if there is something similar or other options available at snowbird, alta , or solitude. If anyone is familiar with them, which program for the 3 year old set did you like the best.

I don't have full beta. but i will put a pitch for Snowbird. Their Camp Snowbird daycare is great. A friend did 3 days in ski school for his 4 yr old and she went from nothing to cruising.

    100 for daycare
150 for half day one-on-one lesson and half daycare?
255 for full day of one-on-one lessons i think

I heard Brighton had the best ski school. but cannot confirm.

Subscribing though as kid will be 3 next year.
I demoed the TECH TALK JONG! pro model this spring and their performance was unparalleled which is good because I ski in a wedge most of the time - bendtheski, 2011

Check out Brighton. My buddies kids are in weekly programs there every Saturday. His daughters started there at your sons age. Pretty sweet spot too.

when my son was 2 weeks shy of 4, he spent 4 days at Alta; he was much better at the end of those days. He also had a lot of fun.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Thanks for the info! We did a day at snowbird daycare when he was almost 1, he liked it but wasn't sure how it worked w the ski school. At this point my dude has mastered straight runs down the flattish magic carpet area without falling and w pretty good balance. He also loves to ride lifts with dad and can walk around great in skis and boots. Zero concept of wedging or turning though so far so anything with a bit of pitch is a happy straight run to blow up stop. So while my main goal at this point is for him to have a blast on snow, figuring out a wedge or turn would be awesome and make it easier for us to play together on the mountain !

Best Cottonwood Canyon lesson for 3 1/2 year old

When my son was 4, I took him on a trip to Snowbird with me and his godfather.

I thought the Snowbird ski school was great. He had a lot of fun there and really improved over 3 days. The last afternoon he finished his lesson up at lunchtime and we skied mineral basin and did a tram lap together.

As well as the instruction being very good, I think those three days really helped him develop a love of the sport and the mountains, as well as giving him confidence that he could get down something that initially looked a little scary to him. He's 6 now, and last month he hiked and skied Highlands Bowl with me. Those three days a couple of years ago definitely helped set him on the path to be able to do that.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Snowbird ski school for younger kids.

Yep...he also thought they "had to smoke."

One of his more brilliant observations.

I would go with Brighton for a kid at that age and skill level, though the ski schools at Snowbird and Alta are also well-regarded.
