maybe dentists pay list in november but I got both pairs VERY cheap cuz there are lots of great used skis around in july, I know one of them there local college boys who will remain nameless had to buy his wife a new pair of DPS so he could go ski Japan with the boys

Angle Parking and I have skied the 24hr with the DPS and Dynafit reps those guys do more than just look core at trade shows, me at this point I am content to sit in front of the fire with my Yogini

Fak - I resemble that remark too.

Although - I have yet to pay list. But I know a guy.

I've only skied my 112 Pures from circa 2012. I love em. I have then mounted with some dynafits- a little forward of center. They are my main bc ski and they do everything I want them to do. If that makes me a dentist or if my degrees mean I can't be core - I am fine with that.

There are so many reasons I will never again be core- those are like the tip of the iceberg baby.

I should note that my 112's were defective

The center core strip had a knot in the wood left a void which was not apparent during manufacturing but after about 1 month the ptex had flexed so much that the defect was obvious and there was a depression in the base maybe the size of my pinky nail.

there were no replacement wailers anywhere so I used that ski for the rest of the season and Marshal Olson got me a new pair for the next season ... a pretty strong showing from DPS IMO

Of course they would never be worth > they were in the wrapper so i sold em for a good price, and got 50 days of use in a big snow year, I did feel a little guilty so I got the 120's which I actualy like much more

edit: It was defiantley Marshal Olson who fixed me up ... I checked PMs

If you think DPS is something for dentists check out those guys:

Saw these for sale and have decided that these are the best of both worlds....do-it-all L120s, but the float of L138s!

Exactly. Someone at DPS forgot to double-check before they hit "Print" on those topsheets.

Bumping after a review. So I skied the OG lotus hybrid 120 in 184 after trying the spooned 197 on Friday. Well the 184 is just great at resort and cut up and slides around real well. The pure was fun until it got chopped. OG 120 rocks. Bring it back.
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

What’s the difference between all the 112 versions? Looking to upgrade from my 2015ish Volkl Nanutaq, like them but find they like to stay on a line , a little hard to break free, make quick turns especially in wonky bc snow. Looking for more of a fun shape easy to smear and move around, fours something like the 112 with more rocker and taper is where I want to be.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Love the shape of my 3.2 138 DPS, but wish they would still make that shape in the modern stiffer yet lighter construction. Mine ski amazing as long as it’s deep enough but the ski gets deflected very easily by the unexpected or firm surface under deeper snow. Too bad they had to throw “paddletech” shape on an incredible R/R ski. It doesn’t make it more versatile , just hooky, which is the opposite feature that ski needed.

Ski companies are running a business and I get that they have to cater to the unskilled dentists that will rave about the 112 as a game changer and sell out the shops supply of magic yellow bananas. However, at their launch DPS’s focus was on their lotus series’ powder performance and made some really amazing groundbreaking skis. Tabla rasas, L120 , L138 garnered a cult following for good reason. I don’t want sidecut after skiing spatulas for 4 years, wish DPS would offer different versions of the 138 shape with various constructions - but I know that I’m asking for the impossible to happen. They barely produce 138s at all anymore.

I agree E. I feel like the OG 120 is the best I skied from their lineup. 112 was too turny and 120 spoon hooked and was not any good on cat tracks. Paddle tech was just like you described and its like they went past the point of good designs and into gimmicks.

So I drank a few beers with the DPS guy when they biked thru here on the way to ski Denali, buddy sez he still has the Lotus forms but is unaware of the cult status the Lotus 120 has, I told him " build it and they will buy "
