I have read great things about the Shadow II. Try not to break it though. Hearing 3 to 4 months for repair times.

I heard the breakage was due to landing a fish and over bending the 10'. Just don't catch any fish. duh

I do know dealers are having issues getting rods in stock. Echo is local here & even that doesn't help when stock is depleted.

Stoked so far with the rod
As I get to understand it better, it'll be interesting to see how often I reach for it

Anyone familiar with the Cortland MK2 euro nymph rod? From the reviews I have read, sounds like people really liked it, but thought it was over priced at $675. They have since reduced the price to $495.

Is it the best under $500 rod? There are a much in that $350 to $500 range. The new Sage Sense at $575 doesn’t interest me as much.

    Not familiar with the Cortland
Sage does a 10’ 3wt in their Pulse line ($450)...no idea where to source it currently tho...

I have a 7’-6” 3wt Pulse for creeks & it is a very satisfying rod to use

Thanks...that is definitely another option to look at.

    Never fished a beulah rod

T&T Contact II 1093 it is. Will match my G2 nicely.

FYI...if any one is looking for rods, reels, flies or other supplies for this type of fishing, Devin Olsen was super helpful with picking out a rod and some flies to try, plus he puts out a lot of good info on this gay subject. Order the rod, two dozen flies and line from him.

Got the new rod out today. What a great rod. If anyone is looking for a dedicated nymphing rod, the 10’9” 3wt Contact 2 is tits. It really bends on decent fish. Unfortunately, I lost the two hardest fighting fish of the day, and probably largest. Just came unbuttoned from the barbless hooks. This seems to happen to me with new rods or a rod I have not fished in a long time. Anyhow, good stuff. Hopefully the new reel comes for it Monday.
