Southern Utah: Henry's, Abadjo's, La Sals
quick loop to get out of the parking lot that is slc, i really wanted to see what was up w these ranges. been skiing a lot and not feeling super strong or motivated, did no planning ahead and just went. i really like solitude, quiet and long approaches, so the henry's are where its at. i'm going back.
looking at mt ellen and the northern part of the henry's, the silence was incredible. skied up on the flanks of mt ellen.
this was my first experience w big fresh cat print, these are 5"across, other prints in the vicinity of different days had me spooked, hoping i was not skinning inbetween the kids and her, prob would not be typing this right now, in the henry's
the rig and the southern henry's, mt pennel and cook. i think id try cook next time, between the drive, the 5mph dirt road drive and the approach, looks like a 3 day affair to summit
looking at the la sals from the henry's
really nice trees on a nw aspect of adjabo summit. adjabo's are cool, the towns are creepy as fuck, lots of skiing potential in this range, moreof a pleasent range, not huge and scary
heading into castle valley, la sals from the north, did not ski due to the road being a sheet of ice and first priority being not crashing my new home on wheels. will be going back.

Looks like you picked a good season to desert us Easterners and move out West for the ski season!

Rad! I love how easy it is to find a wilderness ski experience in the SW. I've been eying up Nevada a lot lately and I'm looking forward to some exploratory trips there, NM and in Utah.

Cool trip. Did you mean the Abajos near Monticello & Blanding, not Adjabo or Abadjo's?
Best regards, Terry
