It might be worth calling a few Tahoe resorts and ask if they take salmon in exchange for some tix.

Funny, around the early '00s they played a little game of pricing for day-skiers. Alpine and Sugar Bowl had $39 day tickets except over Xmas break and the two 3-day weekends. The preferred marketing game has definitely changed since then.
To the OP, for cheap day tix, I'd suggest trying Liftopia for second-tier resorts, except that for late April and early May, those places will be closed. Late April and May is backcountry time in the Sierra, especially this year. Last year, I saw a lot of 2-for-1 promotions around late-season for Squaw.

Ingore the bunny. He is about as clueless as one can get when it comes to snow.
Check Craigslists just before you come. I got day e-tickets for Squaw there for about $30 each. Last year Squaw dropped to $49 for people with passes from other resorts once they cut back operations come May. This year cutting back sounds like it might be hard to do.

Thanks! Will do, will also look at Mammoth, I was kinda planning on going that way in June... I like it a lot there. Might even be worth buying a pass, then having an excuse to do vegas/mammoth a few times a year in the shoulder seasons. Believe it or not snow there is more reliable than here...Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care

Forget the Epic Pass for Tahoe. Kirkwood is shutting down mid-April. Stupid.
