women are the best fly fishers. They pursue and enjoy the sport with more enthusiasm than any man I’ve ever met.

Dude hasn't met a lot of men I guess.

I've seen this reposted at least 7,000 times in the last few days. I love how they use a picture of shitty casting as the thumbnail.

Great porn name. It's East Coast/Blue Ridge focused so not surprised.

When I used to run the bro staff for a large company we'd get hit up 300 times a day by ladies for free shit, usually the only qualification was look at my IG!

There's some rad ladies doing cool shit, a la Timbre mentioned above. There are also plenty of shameless self promoters who are in it for them and do nothing to grow the sport, some of whom are mentioned in that list. Really no different than with men really, and the same shit goes on in the ski world too.

As to "enthusiasm"...I dunno, seems like around here most female anglers fish socially, not so much as an end solely unto itself. You'll find lots of them fishing from drift boats in nice weather. I've seen women fishing rough in the backcountry only once in 20 years. I almost never see women out pulling streamers in a sleet storm in November. I haven't seen any women postholing in the snow on the Henry's this winter. I'm certainly not saying there aren't excellent female anglers around here. Just saying, even the best, they got different priorities when it comes to fishing. Getting first tracks on a stream doesn't seem to be one of them. Walking long distances offtrail to get to unfished waters doesn't seem to be one of them. Being physically uncomfortable for hours just to have that shot at the fish of the year doesn't seem to be one of them. Those are all measures of "enthusiasm", imho.
