After waiting for a group ride to pull together doing yard work, fork air adjustment and SPD cleat change I got restless and headed to Hinesburg Town Forest Hayden East. I like this old school zone now that the mudpits have mostly been removed. Samsung app announced 3 miles as I topped out, then 2 miles of root rocky down, more climbing and down.
Rock was grippy and roots rollable, will likely bring the Intense next time as the steep head angle turn machine would be helpful.
Saw 4 seniors walking on Eagles when I popped out of Maiden and a hiker on Passing the Horizon. No other riders seen except in the lot. Perfect.
Nice little store in Huntington selling juicy peaches and cold suds.

On my way to the MRV, stopped by Ascutney yesterday afternoon for the first time this year....forgot how much fun Lynx-Escalator-Grassy Knoll-South Ridge Run are.
Dirt and rocks nice and grippy!

Your crew sounds like the crew we rode with Saturday at pine hill. They left the parking lot right behind us and at the top of escalator asked if we knew how to adjust the suspension on a Scott. One of my friends rides a Scott so he showed him how the system works. Quickly realized the shock had no air. Guy had just traded for the bike and had been riding for 2 days that way. Quick trip down to the car to get him set up.
They asked if they could tag along since they were out of staters. We said sure. Half way in one guy blew a link. They had one Leatherman and no parts. We got a quick link on it and kept rolling. Shortly there after I heard a the unmistakable sound of metal snapping. Slammed on the brakes and turned around expecting a snapped frame. Nope, one guy had a kickstand on his bike that didn't survive a little rock garden. Luckily they had the Leatherman to remove the rest of the kick stand that was bent into the tire.
We toured then back and forth across the park showing them most of the area and the best bridges. They all made it and seemed to have a blast. Luckily the guys I was riding with are all mellow and had fun with the comedy of errors.

A kickstand!?
Rode the plus set up for first time yesterday and damn was it fun! Especially for where I was riding, as its full of tech. I have the 29er set up ready to go too. Pretty excited to have two bikes in one right now! That small wheel size is playful and did not have any clearance issues. Typical bash guard hits where I always hit. Ran 18lbs and that seemed good on the dry granite.
This is really fd up though...never seen the water like this. There was an old dump about a half mile from this site. Been in the papers for years, but something has changed recently. The poor animals living around here.
Edit "rode" Too much back n forth shit giving with my roadie friends.Last edited by jackstraw; 07-31-2017 at 08:10 AM.

Oh man, removing the kick stand should be a litmus test.
Remember showing some guy I ran into in SLC trails from Georgia who'd just bought a Diamondback off of Promotive how to hit some small jumps. Once we'd shot the shit I kindly suggested we take all the sizing stickers and reflectors off the thing and tape up the one super long cable that was gonna catch on something and toss him off the bike sooner or later.

I'm down as long as it's not between the 18th and 27th. Otherwise I'd love an early fall mini. As for drop status, I'm-a drop some science, that's all I know.

Looks like the 16th is the best, then.
Our local trails are riding sooooo well. A friend's buddy from Virginia rode with us this evening and was very complimentary of the trails. He was envious that we have a great 2 1/2 hour loop to ride on a random Tuesday night.
