    Kicking horse beta

    Heading there tomorrow-
Trying to figure out the layout. Is there a place to stash layers, food etc, in the lodge? Or is there a mid mountain lodge?
Will it be a pain to get back down to the car if we want to pick up avvy gear and skins?

Basically out here for touring, figured we would get a day in at the resort, but don't know much about the place. The backcountry has been great- skied from the the Rogers Pass visitor center today, had no trouble finding fresh snow. Bonnies Morraine yesterday was amazing. Riding mostly lifts for a day should be a nice break.

BTW- If anybody dropped something on the trail heading in toward Bonnies, I left it at the sign board near the parking lot.

Just spent a week at KH. There's a yurt at the bottom of the heavens chair where you can stash. Gondola ride from the lot to summit is about 10 - 12 minutes, if busy the gondie line can push 30-40 minutes but mid week will be fine. Hike to still has powder, lift serve is packed out but slack is real good.

Repeater slide. Spooky, pretty impressive propagation.

To ski the good terrain at KH you need to do a full lap to the bottom because of the lift layout, so leaving your gear at the base/car is no problem, just grab it when you want to head out of bounds.
    Drive slow, homie.

We actually stayed inbounds, and just skied with our packs.
The yurt was closed, and it turns out the lodge up top is a full service restaurant.

Holy crap, that place is great.
