    TR: 17BBI @ Alpental WA

    Thursday evening arrival... pretty quiet.

    1.

    2.

City League racers were scooting around on the groom between stripes of blue ice. Big Steve nearly blew away at the top of Armstrong, skittering across the fall line, waiting for edges to bite. We migrated to Sessel for the remaining runs of the evening, making 5 total. No skidding allowed! Edges had to be locked into the carve with force, else wash out. Snow was falling on the campers when we finished the second growler at about 10pm. Mofro came by to have a beer and to facepalm over politics.

    3.

A few inches of snow and some wind overnight helped the ski conditions immensely for Friday. Visibility came and went, and the hill remained quiet. Maggots dominated the slopes. Blue ice was found, but the deposits were remembered and easily avoided henceforth.

Snow resumed Friday evening, with maybe another ten inches on the campers overnight. Saturday was busy, and with all the gates closed, full crowd control tactics were in play. Bobby opened the donuts, SorryBro dispensed the baby seal belly bacon, and FatKidFromFL opened the lid to his can of space invader chocolates. More than one traveled baker was rendered catatonic by the pro class treats. The raffle went well, raising $350 for the Alpy avy dogs. Snowfall intensity ramped up in the night-skiing hours.

Friday's "firm" conditions required a little edge work by Buster Highmen to make it across the transition from Upper to Lower Nash.

It was great to meet so many members from out of state. Come back for LBD. Just as much fun with extra ski length added.

Thanks for the pics Norseman. It also helps when the photographer is also a rad skier. Good times and nice to put faces to some of the screen names and do some turns with familiar faces. My favorite moment was Saturday afternoon when there was a group of maybe 20 strong skiers that attacked Felson like a platoon in knee deep powder.

Abraham! Dude, best turns of the weekend were on Saturday night after the spaghetti dinner. High speed refills! Managed 26k between 9am and 9:30pm despite the crowds and lot4 partying. Thanks, brother!

Yes, I can edit the post to include forum names. I put this together hastily and left out a lot of information. Been a busy spot in life.
