1. thought you were done reading there.
2. the first post about ispo is well before the post about Patagucci/OR, not the very next post
3. in that ISPO post he writes :
Most of all, I come here to have direct contact with principle people of the ski touring gear business who might not be at the shows in North America.
I disagree with a lot of Lou's crap, but he doesn't come off as an ill-prepared dumbfuck the way that you are.

Lou questioning Patagonia's reasons for leaving OR seem valid and something that not many other people are publicly talking about. Especially not with his reach. The North Face, Burton, Dynafit, Arc'teryx and many others did not have a booth at SIA this year, clearly it wasn't due to politics but instead the cost of attending and timing of the shows.
Nobody is forcing you to read his "blog" again, his "BLOG" go start your own, its not that hard and if you want to rant about politics, by all means...

he gave my Neighbor 5000$ and the Patagonnia "activist of the year" award for swimming 624kms of the skeena to protest pipelines
as for the cost of being at the big trade shows my son was telling me last fall Yeti didnt buy space at interbike instead they had a private suite at Vegas which they invited dealers toLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

The not going to shows thing runs across all industries. It's usually monetary, even if the monetary gain is in the long run, (like Patagonia).
Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda

Hey, did you by any chance actually read this thread? Did you by any chance get the gist of the OP? Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up. The OP has grown tired of wildsnow and understands that he is not being forced to read, so he is asking for suggestions for other blogs that may be similar in subject matter but without the elements of wildsnow that he doesn't like.
So please, FFS, stop saying "if you don't like it don't read it", because we get it, that was the entire point of this thread."fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ

"I know it sounds crazy, but every time I have made a decision that is best for the planet, I have made money." http://www.inc.com/magazine/201303/l...patagonia.html
interesting take from Jen at Mountain Khakis. http://www.snewsnet.com/news/open-le...ailer-boycott/
maybe Patagonia will in turn invest some of the money saved from OR into a North American production facility? For a company that cares so much about the planet, a message we all love why is everything made overseas?
is Jeff still round? http://earlyups.com/category/gear/

media310, just trying to help a little struggling company like yours how see how one of the big boys does it and profits. Seeing as how your so loved and respected around here you obviously don't need the help.
I would like to take this moment to publicly apologize to media310 from distracting him from his endless dribble of spam...and do ya think you cheap bastards could toss out a little pineapple with all that spam.

Altho it might be nice if Lou broadened his subject matter or at least invited people who can work the latch on a 2piece pole and obsess about how they work as oppose to whether they should be, which would then possibly be good for his advertisers AKA the people who pay for his existance and make it possible to go eat strudel at ispo ... whatever lou puts up on wildsnow is for the most part pretty good content
But the one time I clicked on some media 310 spam it was just fucking terrible and so I refuse to click on anything buddy puts up just on principle ... he should go just go awayLast edited by XXX-er; 02-17-2017 at 05:22 PM.

pretty sure he makes the majority of the money on Wild Snow via affiliate marketing through AvantLink.com which some of you in the forums will surely remember when I was working for TGR and turned on the affiliate links to these forums! Any time someone posted a link to Backcountry.com we auto added our tracking code to the end of the link so the company (TGR) would earn a commission on sales, it was around 10%.
Ya'll bitched so much about the affiliate links that a $30k a month revenue stream got taken away from TGR literally overnight.
I count 3 affiliate links on this recent review on Lou's site alone. https://www.wildsnow.com/21827/marmo...i-bibs-review/
Don't fool yourself he's running a blog that is also a business..
To be honest I can't believe TGR hasn't bothered to turn those back on?? even if it offends some of you users.
I like it when you talk shit about my spam click-bait site, as it drives traffic. Here's a thought.. Why don't ya'll come to my place in Jackson during BBI and tell me how shitty I am in person, my website, my reviews all of it. I will have strong coffee waiting clearly the industry must not read the TGR forum or I would have no gear to test on my "fucking terrible" website.

, I have no idea if yer a good person and I don't care who makes bank off of what but those disjointed ramblings you call a test are plain fucking terrible "test' is a relative term

Interbike (shows in general) are really expensive, and they are getting harder to justify for a lot of brands, poor timing and dealer attendance are just two of many reasons for this. FWIW, Yeti (the bike company) hasn't had a booth on the show floor at Interbike going back at least 10 years (might be more at this point).
Why bother?
Hmmm, time will tell wont it.

The best thing about this post is it has reaffirmed my faith in TGR! Had a post a couple months back and the responses were all touchy/feely. Was worried that something had happened to my beloved TGR forums. Good to see there are a bunch of surly SOB's still around here!

Heard that Wildsnow got sold to Outdoor Gear Lab, makes sense that the only two sites who write half-baked reviews of touring gear decided to join forces to sell more crap.

Interesting, sometimes wildsnow has well written thoughtful articles but ever since Jason Albert became their main writer they have been fewer and farther between.
He managed to write a 1200 word article about how sometimes you can save a few seconds in a transition by skinning with pins in the forward position if you have a binding with that functionality. https://www.wildsnow.com/33420/trans...ng-heel-units/ Hopefully, whatever happens their writing gets better.
Speaking of alternatives, I find some of the stories in Ascent Backcounty more compelling.
