I'm just home from ski touring and beer and watching the first run of the GS on the CBC feed. God almighty Giant Slalom is fast now. This is not the sport I grew up watching. Amazing.

The kid Siegle also comes from skiing royalty, his mom is Barbara Cochran, 1972 slalom gold medalist etc. of the "skiing Cochrans" of VT.

I thought Nick Goeppers last run there was a gold medal for sure. What about his run was worse than Braaten's? His rail section had better tricks and was cleaner, and his last trick was bigger and cleaner

Agreed. And by the look on his face, he thought for sure he had the gold. Great run, and inspiring story about the kid coming back from battling depression and addiction.
