Why would anyone want to do business with them w the lack of ethics displayed? There are some prize won brand new RMU's on gear swap - would any sane person buy them after reading this thread?

I have a free Fat Tire token for RMU Breck for the first mag to meet up with me and ask for it.

Their bars are pretty fun. I rarely go bars much less Breck but hey when I have!

They have a bar in Whistler, actually met up with a date there.

Their ski/travel backpack is nice and very bomber (too heavy for my personal taste) but I almost bought their bike hip pack.

RMU does a lot for the community including supporting SAR/Patrol/Avalanche.

    I haven't skied their skis.

A pair of packable bus-stop footwear would fit nicely in the fanny pack.

I would be very surprised if this endorsement quote does not show up on their website.

Ha! The other funny thing is I think the free fat tire token has been riding around my car since before the rona... and I've been there since... fat tire is massively disappointing!

I'm supposed to be in Vail tomorrow, but if not I might ride my fatbike... I doubt the cliffs/bluffs are dry enough for skinny tires as it wasn't before the storm. Maybe Sage and Oro which were skinny tire rideable pre-storm...

Rocky Mountain Underground is massively dissapointing.

    Who owns RMU?

I believe they are employee owned. I probably mentioned back in the thread that I helped them out at SIA for two years many years ago, skis were pretty good when they came out of never summer, things took a downward turn, but I think they are back to being pretty good skis. Minus this nonsense which really left a bad taste in my mouth. I will say they definitely should have focused on the basics. The owner called me back in 2016 to see if they should start a bike company. I straight up told him that was a terrible idea.

If you go to post #71 on page 3, there are pics of the problem. Almost a full mm of concave. With base thickness of 1.25 mm and edge thickness about the same, there is no way to take enough material off to make them flat.

    Page 1, 4th listing.

Bumping this thread because while in Breck a couple of weeks ago, I walked by the RMU bar (bar? storefront? hipster hangout?).

Trying to explain to my gf that my first thought was that the bar was massively disappointing didn't translate well.

"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

Got a chuckle re-reading this mess. Seeing as RMU is still around and have expanded considerably, they've probably stepped up the quality and customer service. good on them for supporting local causes like SAR/Patrol/Avi education.

    But...

It would seem RMU and Hooters run similar contests
