    Carnage on the Kandahar

Mens Downhill, Garmisch, Jan 27, 2017

Nyman out for the season, Eric Guay front-flips of one of the jumps, Giraud-Moine breaks both legs (DO NOT watch the video, it was sickening). Props to Ganong though, who held it together. His old man used to be my doctor in Tahoe City.

From Wikipedia--Ganong is in a relationship with Canadian alpine ski racer Marie-Michèle Gagnon.
    That's weird.

Holy fuck. Giraud-Moine, so gnarly, the scream. Brutal course out there. Nyman was ahead by a hair at the last split before he ate it too. Ganong is an animal. Ballz of steel.
There's nothing better than sliding down snow, and flying through the air

Is it a new thing to put jumps like that in the middle of a downhill course?

The Erik Guay crash is spectacular. Crazy he didn't get hurt.

Garmisch is skiing pretty good right now, we have a thick blanket of snow to the valley floor. Now if we can get some at the high elevations

Been doing it for years - they had to tone down the Kitzbuhel jump near the finish due to crashes. They always build one at Lake Louise too.
