Been a busy June. First, flew to Michigan for 10 days in the UP with the gf's parents. Hiked into the Porkies one day and manged to sneak this brookie on a bugger.
Flew back to VT for another wedding and some time at Mom's. They have a pond they have stocked with bows, but its only ~10 feet deep and there is no real moving water, so I told them they needed to add an aerator or something to keep the fish alive. Managed a handfull on dries and this nice one (for that pond) on a bugger.
After a quick stop in Boston to catch up with a buddy, headed down to Bourne (see my other thread with updated pics). Snuck out in the Kayak 3 mornings and managed to put the hurt on some Micros and a few decent little schoolies. Fishing a 5wt sink tip and my 8wt with a float yielded about 4 fish each day.
This guy on the 5 was a ton of fun. No drag on my sink line reel, he put up a good fight.
Now time to get some Elk scouting in in the Uintas and fish some little fish on big dries."If we can't bring the mountain to the party, let's bring the PARTY to the MOUNTAIN!"

^^^Get that damn dog out of my fishing hole!
Nothing like casting to 20" bows then going into the Trouty for a quick shot and a beer and back out on the river.
I think the drakes are all but done on there.Hunting kicks ass.

I was still seeing them and catching fish on them albeit mostly smaller fish, especially on the upper below the ranch. Had lunch and did a little "work" from the trout hunter patio on Monday, nice spot for sure.
I really expected it to be an absolute zoo up there. We floated lower sections on Sunday and Tuesday and saw almost no other boats.

Sweet!
Yea there were some pretty impressive brown drake hatches on the ranch before that cool wet weather moved in last week. I personally haven't seen any since. I'm sure there's still plenty of spinners around tho.
That section of river behind the TH is some of the best green drake water anywhere. When it's on it can be a zoo.
If there is such a thing as a green drake blanket hatch it happened on that section about 3 years ago. The old timers there were calling it a Hundred Year hatch. I was lucky enough to be there. It went from about 3 to 7pm until it started to rain. Luckily most everyone was already off the river by then. I've never seen anything like it before or since.Hunting kicks ass.

favorite spot is starting to come into shape. it should have been the most insane dry fly fishing but all the fish wanted to do was smash streamers. and mice. that's why it's my favorite spot.
