Ft Collins getting more precip than Summit Co. tonite. They need it down there? Summit gets the scraps that rolled across the Sierra.
Breck - Coverage holding on off Imperial and t-bar. Small rocks showing in places so bring ur appro skis. Today Peak 6, Peak 8 & Peak 10 were closed. Some people skinning up. Not sure if they will re-open Sat/Sun for the closing.
Abasin - Tuesday was a great spring skiing day. The type of fun even if there is no pow. Weds; bumps and pistes froze overnite leaving them hard as sheet metal. Viz was terrible, then good for 5 minutes, then another fog bank rolled in to kill it. The 1-2" that fell barely helped to soften anything.
Lot of rocks showing below the traverse. Need to see 6 or more b4 i hit it again. Spring blast needed {IM=Fingers-crossed}Last edited by Lostinthetrees; 04-20-2017 at 08:42 PM.

Thursday was sweet. Boot high fluff could be found off East Wall traverse, Jamie's Face, and, trees. Viz was tough as fog and puking ruled the day. One burst of sunshine and blue allowed another run at the East Wall traverse. By the time I came back up to hit Cornices visibility collapsed again.

AM view down Jamie's to Lodge during period of "good" visibility.
15 minutes of sunshine and great visibility!
Look back on my way down to base to end my day.
Looks like winter staying around thru the weekend. Better get there really early on Saturday ...and, no whining about parking.Last edited by Lostinthetrees; 04-28-2017 at 09:55 AM.

Abasin Saturday - Arrived 7:15 to find good parking. Generally, the 3 - 4" that fell overnight was wind affected/consolidated into light crust. The soft stuff was in the trees off Mtn Goat Traverse and the trees around\under Zuma lift. Finally, long lines at Zuma lift drove me back to the front-side. Long lines at Lewanee Mtn lift drove me down to base. Long lines at base drove me to the parking lot.

I left just before noon and the traffic was snarled up and parking was roadside towards Keystone.Last edited by Lostinthetrees; 04-30-2017 at 09:34 AM.

By 8:30 it was a cluster fuck in Keystone. A-basin (not CDOT) shut down the road and shuttles weren't running. A couple hours later the road cleared and shuttles started showing up. April powder frenzy. Too many people in this fucking state, should have stayed home and skinned RMNP. Needless to say I didn't get much of the wind affected crusty "powder".

Accurate summary of today.
Today convinced me that I'm going to bypass the full pass, in favor of the weekday pass for the Basin next year.
I'm fortunate to be able to ski weekdays, and don't need the temptation to go on days like Saturday. If anything, this will get me doing human powered skiing on weekends.

So $199, all season, all weekdays? Any other perks? That's a great deal.
