    Summit County, CO. 2017

Not a bad season here in Summit County, CO. :- )
Seems like a new storm each week. Closing I-70 (East and/or Westbound) each week, too.

Been awhile since posting... April 2015 at A-Basin, I think...

Here are a couple photos from Tuesday the 10th. I think our deepest day this year.
    - Below the Peak 8 SuperConnect heading down to the Tunnel. Fresh was just below my knees jumping down this "staircase". Not sure who was in red but he was whooping as he was swooping.
    - Riding up for another run before reporting to a 9:30 clinic.

    Stay tuned...

Weather forecast for Saturday, Feb 4th, was partly cloudy and upper 30's. So wrong, but the result was so right. Overnight windblown & new snowfall covered above treeline w/ a fresh 6" blanket.

Aren't those 2 seaters the best! Always just feel so good on them, and for some reason they are almost always more comfortable than the new high speeds too

Snow arrived Saturday night into Sunday the 12th. The moisture flow was weak and widely scattered so 4 - 6" on a firm base was found above tree-line. Calling that "boost to the ego" conditions.

E Chair in afternoon. In these days of 6 seaters, I like these 2 seaters for their slow pace, one-on-one conversation, and, the quiet solitude through the trees.

Afternoon found us entering into the low clouds & flakes. We skied down w/ a light touch and plenty of flex in the legs.

Wind ripped up high Sunday. Peak 8 north to 6 the high ridges never opened. Should be a great day on Monday to hit Whales Tail north to Serenity if the winds die down. Snow is wind consolidated but the thin crust gives way to dry and light.

So we have a shop trip to summit county starting april 11th. Gonna be staying in between keystone and abasin. Any local CO deals on lift tixs? Or any mag hookups? Will gladly provide beer, foodz or other necessities. Are we looking at warm spring skiing? East wall is looking pretty bare by then?

Spring skiing rules. Allows u to become master of bumps as one butters and slices them down, Thereby, u are making them flatter and smaller for the enjoyment of the general public.

Sunshine and temps in 40's dominate for next 5 days. But, mtn weather can turn on a thin dime.

Check Whole Foods Frisco for their $ deal on Copper Tickets. Pricing should be on-line.
Vail Pass rules for hitting Key, Abay, Breck in same trip.

    - Log Cabin in Frisco has some mean items on the breakfast menu for reasonable prices.
    - Abay's upper mtn lodge has the best bbq plate in the area in the opinion of some afficianados. Beans r an exlnt side.
Salt Creek in Breck has a mean 3 meat bbq plate, too.
    - Relish in Breck is pricey but excellent quality. Both the Baked Alaska & the dark choc mousse are fine, fine, fine. Ask for window table if possible before sundown when you reserve table/time. Nice place to see the sun go down over mtns. Great place to take your main squeeze.

heck, the rest you can google.

Sorry sir, thought it was Arapahoe Basin honestly. Sometimes I get lazy though, slamming out a post while pooping at work means shortcuts are taken

Most people I know think that place has the worst breakfast in the county, and I agree with them.

Here is a short list of places that are way way way better than that bland little grease factory:

    Blue Moon
    Bread and Salt
    Butterhorn
    Mtn Lyon
    Sunshine
    Haywood
    Inxpot
    Haywood
Loveland Ski Areas cafeteria (ultimate winner is to bring a burrito from Blue Moon here and put their green chile on the burrito)
    Abasin's cafeteia
    Anywhere in Breck
    Anywhere in Copper

Einsteins is way better than Log Cabin.

Shit, I'd go get a breakfast burrito at Safeway before Log Cabin.

I'd drive to Kremmling and eat at the Moose before Log Cabin.

The hospital makes a better breakfast than Log Cabin.

I'll have some cereal at home before Log Cabin.

How are they still in business?
