They screw into metal inserts, unlike ones like Solomon that screw into plastic, so there's no worry about wear from swapping...

Do these have a high instep height? Not wide enough?

    BSL?

Instep and width are pretty ample for most people. My foot is super wide and very high on the instep, and while I could make it work, I'm going a different route with a smaller (length) but wider and higher instep boot...

Freedom Last is 101 stock, with the punch, it is probably a 102-103 now.

Here' s a bunch of info on it:

thanks for the info! My foot is about the same. Let me research this some more.

I'm currently in a 27.5 black diamond quadrant dark green and black version, but have not had the most comfortable foot and prone to blisters on super long days.

yup, quadrants have a larger toe box, but this boot has more room over the instep. I had quadrants for a couple seasons, but wore intuitions with them...

Can you go try these on? Really the only way to tell. And even then, it won't give you a totally accurate feel w/ unbaked liners... but close....

^^ I've got a pair of Scarpa Freedom SLs with both DIN and tech soles that I'm looking to unload for reasons similar to OP. Wanted to love them but just not a good match with my caveman foot. PM me if you're interested.
