Wild Mountain, MN, circa 1983-84 season, I was on the lift and saw a guy on skis land on a girl like that. Killed her instantly; her parents were ski patrol. So sad.

Yesterday at Mt Bachelor I watched two separate events over 90 minutes where a boarder got some major air, only to find out his LZ was already occupied by another rider. One landed on a stranger, one on his riding "buddy". Just another touron week.

Oh and DD, you need to tighten your chin strap and quit skiing in the back seat. 1.5/10

Yep. Saw another death there in 2005 or 6; older lifty was hiking up Ego Alley, per his doctor's orders to get more exercise. Had a heart attack and dropped dead right under the lift, just as I skied past him. We were chaperoning a few dozen grade-school kids; we had to divert them from that lift while patrol tried to restart his heart.
