I follow this page on FaceBook, called "Unofficial Networks," and they posted this vid about backcountry etiquette. I think the guy's name is Andrew McLean. I used to think he was kind of cool.
Long story short, he's sitting there preaching about bc etiquette, blah blah, SMOKING A CIGARETTE. What an idiot. Lost all respect.

Are you for real? That is OBVIOUSLY a riff on the "backcountry bad habits" schtick in that video. Notice now he never takes a drag, and the cig just burns there? You really think Andrew McLean smokes? Do you get mad at articles in The Onion too? It's called parody for fuck's fucking sake.

Used to play ultimate against a dude who was lightning fast, I couldn't even hope to keep up. And then he'd go to the sideline and have a smoke.

worse is people who pay close to $20/class or $100/mo or whatever to go to a yoga studio and smoke a cigarette right before class. everybody smells it and it's horrible.

Went skiing in Wisconsin this year. Lot of people smoking everywhere. Many dudes sitting around by themselves with a full pitcher of beer in the lodge middle of the day.

Seriously, I get that, the yoga class deal especially. Indoors...go to a cigar bar or other place where smoking is the norm.

Smoking in the Tram line or Gondi line and then reeking the ride up...no, not kind at all. I tend not to smoke on the mapped trails and watch my drift when there are people about.

Out in the BC, another story. Trail work, another story.

Don't need DEET in the summer, bugz hate smoke and flee. Been passed by hikers who glare at me and then not far down the trail they are slathering on the DEET because they are suddenly getting chewed on. Happens quite a lot...makes me chuckle.
