I'm not gonna complain about this week.... skied 5 of the last 7 days, about 94K of vertical. Days were either cloudless bluebird or powder days, or bluebird powder.

Get out while the getting is still good.

Nice work GR! Wed AM looked pretty incredible.

We had a snow day on Tuesday, so it was ski day for me. Had a ripping morning with my buddy at Ajax as the storm really started coming down. I was having an all-time day until I misjudged an air, compressed on a landing and knocked myself out with a uppercut knee-to-the-jaw hit. Was out for 1-2sec, then came back. Poor decision and a bummer to end the day. No damage, except a small molar chip and sore jaw.

Snow day for all Aspen schools, so we were back at it again. 6-12" of windloaded snow in Christmas Tree, Bell 1/2, and the sides and trees of the Dumps. The open areas of the dumps (Perrys, Last Dollar) were rough, as was Jackpot, Face, etc. Interesting day!

They had everything open at Ajax by 10, but ran the Gondi at half speed until shutting it down for good at 2:30. There were strong upslope winds scouring Nell/Niagra/Ridge of Bell, but those died down an hour before they closed the Gondola.

From friends pics, it looks like they got the Bowl open in the afternoon. Today should be excellent at Highlands.

Skied Highlands for a few hrs today, found some great turns on Temerity/Steeplechase and down the gut of the bowl. Variable out there though.

They found the 23 y/o "mountaineer" who was on Pyramid. Supposedly fell 2000ft and walked out East Maroon after a 1-2 bivouac. Lucky.

Glad you had a good time.
It's a group effort, but have to give a lot of credit to the race director, Jim Hancock.

I talked with Aspen Patrol and Peter King on Wednesday and it's not looking likely.

Ajax open t2b until 23rd. 10-5pm, 9am if its a powder day. Express & SQG only, 1A and couch terrain is open but not the lifts.

Highlands still has a lot of snow but there's no shot it stays open after the 9th. Cliffhouse at BM open 8th & 9th for the uphillers w/vendors & demo gear at the base.

    More info to follow......

Apparently Kaplan just made the call, which is good.

Do you even ski Ajax anymore, I haven't seen you all winter?

Left town for two weeks (sprang breaaaAAK!), but glad to be back. Got out to Highlands at 9:30 on Wednesday. Legitimate winter powder day, but with Spring bluebird conditions. Two really nice untracked laps on Steep n Deep/G1 face. Got pretty warm by 11am.

If any mags needs 50% offs for the remaining days, let me know. I got a stack!
