2017 PGA TOUR THREAD
TIGER IS BACK (and shot a 70 in a pro-am!)
Let's talk golf fellas. Only 125 days till Augusta.I still call it The Jake.

Besides being Tiger's host event it is a no-cut tournament. Tiger needs to play a four round event just to test his fitness.

And put up more crowd pleasing numbers like that 70.

Hit a lot of fairways, too. If his driving accuracy is even mid-pack, he can win on tour again.

Don't get me wrong. I want to see the comeback happen. I just don't know how viable he'll be against so many good young players.

Tiger would be happy with 280. Avoid a blow up round and play steady.

Is this the season Fowler breaks through for a major?

I'd hope so. All of his buddies have one.

Probably not with DJ and Kjeldson around. But I hope he does.

Tiger driver swing looks relaxed. Hitting the slight draw.
200 yard 6 iron to 3 feet. Nice easy swing. Looks like a change in mentality to play controlled golf.Last edited by 4matic; 12-01-2016 at 12:32 PM.

Real question is: How is Bubba getting along with Tiger at his event? 17 players is not a huge crowd he can disappear into.

Bridgestone ball. I started playing BX330 and it's the best ball I've played.

3rd the Bridgestone ball endorsement. I just gotta look down and see Titleist. I used to also have to hit off white tees, but as I've gotten shittier natural wood and bamboo have become acceptable.

73... Those two doubles certainly changed the feel of the day. Will be very interested to see how he comes out tomorrow.

Probably means he's going to play in 3 hours and shoot 6 under?

That's got to be weird at such a small event, much less your own.
One year growing up I saw John Daly go off first by himself on a Sunday at the WGC at Firestone. Guy played so fast it was nearly impossible to keep up. Under 3 hours easy. Putting with the blade of his wedge if he had to chip up, stuff like that. He got fined for it if I remember correctly.
Bar must have been opening soon.I still call it The Jake.
