I'm coming to the end of my week here, I love your mountain. We are attempting to fly out tomorrow, so we might stay longer.

Hopefully they repaired the wash out on the road to Onion Valley.

Pretty sure the patrollers doing control work let out a big “ Oh Shit “ when that one went

What was surprising is the fact they opened the Top Sunday

Mammoth is a strang place when it comes to the Backcountry
You don’t meet a lot of local chargers. Most people in the BC there are either from Tahoe LA or like me San Diego

And they really corral the snomo activity here.

But then again most of the terrain is very high and steep
Not a lot of trees and not much low angle

You should come over this spring and do some touring

Try Independence ( Onion Valley ) or Big Pine
    (Big Pine Canyon )

But don’t look for that light Utah powder
    Think spring corn
hey kook the reason you don't see any local rippers in the backcountry is cuz they are doing the big stuff while you are touring crap

Glad you enjoyed your exchange. Sorry you missed some epic pow by a day. Patrol worked their asses off to get the mountain open in a safe manner on Sunday (looks like some of them got so sweet turns after their ski cuts). We had some horrid lines, but I still got some really good lines as they opened things up. Sorry we didn't get to meet. Have a safe trip home, cheers.

The last few days were closer to the winter conditions I have come to expect. Lots of high speed skiing on some nice wind buff. A big thank you to the grooming crew that do a fantastic job over so much terrain. Without you guys, my legs would be toast even faster. Ski ya in a few weeks.

I'll share a bit of my week.

Day 1, it's pretty cool here.

We went for a walk out at June and looked at some stuff.

We also skied some trees down into some houses.

Some of the skiing at Mammoth is pretty fun

And we skied through a hole, which was unique.

You guys have a pretty cool chunk of skiing here.

Next time you are in Costa Rica please do the world a favor and get yourself a hooker. It's on me.

Nice shots mtaylor, glad you had fun.

I had a blast this weekend. The top is pretty money right now, except for Climax obviously. When I found P2 I pretty much stayed there for the whole weekend. Super fun snow and an absolute blast. I took some fun laps in P1 too. The Paranoids are really fun right now. I will miss next weekend, but I've got an 8 day trip coming to close out March. Hopefully the pattern continues.

I don’t like this guy at all but... he’s kind of right here, I have to admit. Plenty of local rippers crushing serious BC lines in the area.

Same deal in Tahoe- the easy road side stuff can be a gong show but the harder to get to stuff you run into some damn good skiers, most of the time.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

    ^^^^true.

But the king salmon knows all. And he gets women, for free, all around the world. I mean, who else here gets their women for free? Okay, quite a few? But are any of you a degenerate douchebag meth cook? No. King salmon is. And still he gets women for free. All around the world! For free!

I think their are a lot of Tahoe peeps that come down, but I just don't meet many Mammoth locals out.
As compared to Jackson, SLC, PNW and the San Juans

Could be because its a more isolated area and the town is smaller

Don't know but to me just doesn't seem to be as many chargers which is good

As far as Teton Trump , you would think that jet setting douchbag could at least save enough money to buy a cheap camera to show us all the fabulous places He goes, but I guess with the price of Crystal Meth and the rise in Mobile Home rentals in Bishop that's out of his budget

Flying out of Calgary tomorrow after 10 days on the Powder Hwy. Experienced everything from freezing cold winter conditions (SSV) to fresh pow (Fernie) to fun spring snow (RM). Hopefully our good timing continues and we’re back in ML by Friday!
