I broke out the fatbike for the first time this winter. I guess it's time to admit dirt season is wrapping up. I'm sitting at a hair under 500 hours, 4,200 miles, and 700,000 vert/ft. all on dirt, no shuttles, no lifts. Not quite as much as last year at this point, but we had another kid early in the year....

This thread is inspiring and damn humbling.
95% dirt -
Distance: 1,351.7 mi
Time: 165h 16m
Elev Gain: 166,394 ft
Rides: 93
Moved to a place that has snow on the ground 4-6 months a year, but also has amazing trail riding, so not sure what 2018 will hold. I'm shooting for:
2200 miles
250 hours
250,000 vert
125 rides
EDITED 1/1:
Distance: 1,436.4 mi
Time: 174h 30m
Elev Gain: 175,545 ft
Rides: 101Last edited by meter-man; 01-02-2018 at 07:07 PM.

Looks like I'm a bit behind last year in miles.
186 rides, 250hrs, 2820 miles, 245k vert
Few top 10 finishes in Elite/Open XC and PA State CX Masters 35+ Silver medalist
I'd guess that's probably 60% single track, rest road/gravel/cx.
Lots of lunch loops ~1hr since I predominantly WFH and have trails to ride from home

Miles Per Year?
That’s a wrap for me. 8,262 miles for the year for me, about 900 or so of that on an indoor trainer, 1k mtb; the remainder about 50/50 road/gravel. Best year yet; hope to do even better next year.

Made it to 5004 miles on bikes, which surprised me as I was at like 4300 going into Nov.

Why can’t you differentiate between road and mountain on Strava? I know this has been brought up.

I just have the free version and it'll tell you how many miles each bike has, If you're diligent about specifying it on each ride. That's it as far as I know though. It would be a nice feature.

Started Apr 29 with last ride Nov 12. Totaled 1,100.42 miles all on dirt. I typically ride about 18 miles, four days per week with some running and indoor workouts on the side. This was my first year of focusing on riding in nearly 15 years. Next year I want to up it to 2,000 miles and increase my daily distances in the process. I don't think I'll be working after June so I'll have the time to put into it.

If you specifiy the bike on each ride, and then go into "settings -> gear" you can add parts on specific dates, and use that to count miles per bike per year. Or pay for veloviewer and it will break things down for you like that (but you still have to tell strava what bike you're riding).
I did 1145 miles on my mtb, 1660 on the cross bike, and and 2158 on the road according to that. I think it works out about even on time between them all.Last edited by jamal; 01-03-2018 at 04:06 PM.

2018... Wasn't quite up to 2017's numbers, but still a pretty good year!

Looks like I ended up with:
1314 mi
- 367 fat bike
- 769 mtb
- 178 road (all time low?)
143 hours on the bikes
122,000 ft climbed
148 rides
Only about 100 more miles than last year, but 30k more of climbing. Mountain biking made up the majority of my rides this year.Last edited by sethschmautz; 01-02-2019 at 12:17 AM.

Damn Touring Sedan crushed it.
As for me:
2100 miles
240,00 ft of vert.
176 rides
265 hours
75% of that is mountain/fat biking, 25% or so is gravel.

2018 was my lowest total in a long time.
Distance 378.3 mi
Time 46h 32m
Elev Gain 44,157 ft
Rides 38
2019 goal: 1,000 miles (150 fat, 100 road, 750 MTB)

Miles Per Year?
No idea.
Lots of days slogging slowly upward, being passed by hikers, joggers and other bikers. Followed by some fun downhills. More chairlifts and car shuttles than ever. Just a handful of mechanicals and flats.
13 days straight with massive shuttled vert in Italy.
No serious (bike related) injuries. Still chasing shredder wife 99% of the time.
Still kind of suck at wrenching.
Still having fun.

3855 miles (best in a while, mostly thanks to a 30 mile round-trip commute).
295 hours.
206K feet elevation.
220 rides (commute rides are logged 2x/day so really about 150 days).

Some of you guys are animals.. wow. 500 miles almost all on dirt is about all I can muster up with life and injuries.
