Ha, thinking the same thing. During the summer, I generally get a couple of two hour rides in each week and I think I'm doing pretty well.

Have you guys come across this relive.cc add on for strava? Super fun and all you have to do is sign up once.

It makes a video recap of your route using google earth, sort of like you would see on a Tour de France broadcast.

    No problem!

Pro tip for adding pictures, make the ride private at first, upload pics, then make it public again. They won't make videos of private rides. It can take some time to get it if a lot of people have been riding (like on a Saturday or Sunday).

    Miles Per Year?

3200 miles, 257 hrs, 265k ft elevation this year. Probably 60% mtb miles this year. Not bad considering I have a 3 & 5 y/o.

Edit - Just passed 3500 miles today which was my goal for the year.

Edit - Just joined Strava group; Mike P

Just passed 2000 miles for the season with most of it on the dirt and the rest on the road or my rollers.
That's pretty much my average for the last 6 seasons.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1300 miles, 280k vert, all mtb. The vert's a bit misleading though, since there's some lift served in there.

Since downloading Strava in June I'm at about 1200 miles. 75% road and 25% gravel/dirt/light single track. All on a cross bike. Plus I commute nearly every day in the summer and fall so I'd estimate close to 2,000 in total (including pre Strava). Now that it gets dark by 430 here I've pretty much given up for the year.

    Joined the club too!

Miles don't really matter when you're mtn biking.

Mtn biking should be measured on - how many tires you destroyed. How many times you bled. How many derailleurs were destroyed. How much trail maintenance was necessary. How many safety breaks occurred and how much beer was consumed post ride.

nice to see people getting after it 3500 miles this year split 50/50 between rd and mtn sort of behind the curve a bit since I've cut back on the rd riding usually it's 60/40 road back in the day it was 70/30 road

280 k of climbing would joint your club but i'd have to come out of the closet

1714 total miles, 645 on the mountain bike. My biggest year to date, I'll chalk it up to doing some XC racing and "training". Not bad with having a full time job and a lil kid.

Never really cared much about the mileage its all about vert.
one year i think we had over 750.000 ft what goes up goes down.
most all good rides have HAB.
And yes a couple of beers had.
    no road mile all dirt.
    let it rain.

Heh back in my road racing days another guy and I proposed a handicapping system instead of the usual Cat 1/2/3/4. You got a 5 sec time bonus per kid, and another five for each one under five. You also got a five sec bonus per day you had to travel overnight for business the week prior to racing. There was another time bonus if your spouse worked full time and/or traveled, but don't remember amounts

    We didn't get very far.

Agreed, although I try to avoid breaking shit. Hours, amount of climbing, grins, no. times your butt puckered from fear, vol. of dripping blood, amount of gravel in trail rash, number of times somebody puked or coughed up something disgusting, walking out due to mishap, and spectacular crashes are all worthy yardsticks. Esp. if no don't actually document anything and just go have fun.
