Assym benefits decrease with decreasing width or increasing width?
Aggressive in my own mind

Even without the assym the numbers and profile look awesome. I'm guessing the camber is probably 2 or 3 mm

Pretty damn good. Today was the first time since I got them that I pulled out another ski, dynastar LP105s for the slush. Would have been more fun on the Qs.

Nice!
Funny enough I was riding my LP105s today and I love that ski! But my GPOs would have been a hoot to ride in those conditions (more loose and slarvy).

I love the pop of the lps in those conditions just bouncing from turn to turn making trenches. But in the funky snow where it wasn't as consolidated the Qs would have been the ticket for sure.

Maybe you need a Q with carbon?

The Q is great the way it is. No layup magic is going to make it ski like a metal dynastar.

That's why you've got to have both.

Not that it'll behave like a race ski - but the Quixote will certainly lock in on edge(s) pretty well when you want it to.

Anyone able to compare Q to Concepts (ideally 188 to 187)?
-

Q's don't ski like Concepts, both phenomenal sticks in their own right, just very different

Q is WAY more lively and fun than the OG moustache concept. Not sure how it compares to the current iteration with the compound camber.

Cool. Traded the Concepts and my GPOs are sold so I'm in the clear to pick up a pair of these in the April sale. Thinking #4 Flex, ash veneer. Either stock horse topsheet, or Jamaican lion or Mountain Sunrise with the veneer.
Question is Maple-ash or MAP core? I was pretty happy with the MAP in my GPOs, although definitely not the same damp feel as let's say my brothers BGs.
Thinking maybe the maple ash might give a better resort feel for cut up and chop, variable tracked out snow in the afternoon or days after a storm where I won't want my map-c Protests. Thoughts?

Ash Carbon Veneer is awesome in my Piste-Jibs, definitely my favorite build for straight up resort snow. I like the pop of carbon and the Veneer and Ash work really well to add the dampness you lose from an all glass build.

Shu Shu can you compare those to just a normal MAP layup (have you skied MAP only)?

Here is what I own and have skied pretty extensively now
Protest MAP-C
GPO MAP-C
Concept-MAP
Piste Jib-ASH-C-V
Here is how I see the different build options for Praxis, with the caveat that veneer is fkn awesome and I will always include on any more Praxis skis I buy.
MAP-V-awesome all rounder
MAP-C-V -all day pow slayer
ASH-V- FKN Charger
ASH-C-V-Pop"y" Charger
FWIW its worth if I was buying the Q as a POW ski would go MAP-C-V, if I was buying it as a pow-crud-soft-snow allrounder I'd go MAP-V, or ASH-C-V.
Oddly as rad as the Q looks I am mulling the idea of an MVP in a ASH-C-V.Last edited by Shu Shu; 03-25-2017 at 08:02 PM.

^when you say ASH, do you maple-ash core… or just Ash?
also, you may have mentioned in the other thread but I'll pose the question here as well, what flex do you have the PJs in?

I want to see the mountain sunrise on a veneer! I think it would be money! Almost did it for my backcountry build.
