    179 or 187 Hojis?

I found a pair of 14/15 brand new 179s Hojis stashed in a local shop for $350. I'm about 5'9" 160# and really trying to convince myself that skiing the 179 will be fine for me mainly in part due to the price point.

I was wanting a new ski as an inbounds ski that I could ski powder and tighter trees with. Would I be that disappointed skiing the 179s instead of 187s?

What length ski are you typically on? I bought mine for CO backcountry purposes and am 5'10" 160, went with 187. Lots of rocker in the Hojis. The effective edge length made me go 187. I felt 179 might have been too little.

I also went with 187 length. 5'10" ~150lbs. Longest BC ski for me yet but the 179 seemed like it would be a bit short based on effective edge. The 187s turn on a dime. Trees won't be an issue.

I would not go with the 179 for inbounds skiing if you are aggressive.

Nope, too short. I'm 5'10 205lbs, the 187cm is a good all around length and is great in tight trees. I could see myself on the 195 easily for open terrain. 179 is tiny.

Hojis are just rad-ass killer sticks... My gawd man, auto pilot speed freak skills and confidence in all manner of shit. Took mine out for the first time today...mind = blown. Buggers even chew up moguls aplomb. Zero hesitation.

So incredibly dialled. Almost feel like cheat-skis.

Waiting for bigger steeper badder terrain to unlash the Rens. Pumped!!

I can't stand my 187 hojis inbounds. I'm 6 and 200 and ski 186 renegades as a daily resort driver and tour the hojis. Great float but to make a turn that feels nice they need to be going fast in consistent soft snow.
