P.S. How many of you folks making that drive attempt it without 4wd engaged? I guess the new norm is saving money by not running 4x4 on the pass. sweet way to hurt a bunch of people.

For anyone that commutes daily, how much do you spend on gas on a weekly basis from Victor to Wilson or Jackson if you come all the way to town. Can you make it to work and back over the week via 1 tank of gas?
Hell over half of the rigs are either AWD or traction-controlled etc so very few actually shift in to 4, which i do a lot in my old truck as that's what it's for.

Depends on the tank and mileage, i've got an old truck and older car so it depends. Do the math it's not rocket science.

it's been warming up here so there has been some snow shedding up high but also still been near freezing levels overnight in the valley up until this week
we are now around high 30's to 40* over night in valley- colder up high- but still plenty of snow and even got a few more inches last Fri 5/26

also if you come here also bring bear spray on your ski, stay loud etc as the bears (my people ) are out in force

Cody is still skiing rather well! Climbing up is a bit sporty. A few pics from last Sunday.

The Double Grand 50k. Up and down the Grand, car to car x2 in 16:04
Congrats to Jake Urban, Meredith Edwards and Jason Schlarb for setting a new standard for climbing in the Tetons.

Full interview and audio here - https://mtnweekly.com/sports/climbin...en-set-for-now

Anyone else ever pondered this? Better yet how long you think the 16:04 will stand?

Not to be the naysayer and nitpicker but I think this falls firmly in the trail running in the tetons category. Cool accomplishment and goal but soloing the OS twice in a day doesnt quite hit "new climbing standard" for me. YMMV
