    Shoot the bartender.

Not into pills. But the contact high from the ladies' wait-station combined with strong bourbon seems to have a calming effect.

    Jukebox be damned.

Lovely singer. Calm down and listen to her. Tragic story.

Liking this is not the same as enjoying the Carpenters' music:

    hope that helps.

Edit: oh, I see you got the SY reference in your edit. And yeah, it's a tragic story, but the Carpenters' music was manipulative and trite.

You know what they say, if Mama Cass had given that ham sandwich to Karen Carpenter they'd both be alive today.

After reading that article I found out my lovely girlfriend of 3 years hates that song. I have no idea how she could have kept this terrible secret from me for this long. But I've managed to work it into every one of her playlists, every road trip and at least every other trip across town. She still makes a disgusted face when she hears the opening riff, but I think she's coming round. If this doesn't work I'm torn between electro-shock therapy and water boarding

How can she not like it? I mean, the boys, they're back in town! That's great news. What's not to like?

In related news, there's no Carpenters music on the juke here. But Sonic Youth still rocks from my younger days.

I doubt any of these waitresses know either.

BMills, where are you that your high-rolling self is forced to spend a week at the Hampton Inn? Is there not a Courtyard or Hilton Garden Inn around at least? Are you not in America?

Yeah his Hampton Inn references lately have been numerous, and concerning. A cry for help.

First off, I sincerely appreciate y'alls' concern. Client account. Birmingham AL. (here's the real kicker: clients traveling to our cities get the St. Regis treatment - fuck!)

It's been a great adventure here. Between the key card fiasco, and comped breakfasts... nevermind the off the clock shenanigans, it's a fun town.

I was in Birmingham one Sunday afternoon, and it was closed.

edit: no wait that was Montgomery. But it was seriously closed tight.

When I was a kid I thought it was a Steely Dan song.

Want to clear a lame house party real fast? Blast The Cramps as loud as possible for about 15mins and watch the weaklings flee in terror
