    Darlin' Nicki

I'm pretty sure it was at least 10 years ago, but recently I was thinking about the time period when Powder had the old police cruiser, and their "Parting Shot" feature was a short story about the latest adventures of the Powder staff and the cruiser.

One of those "Parting Shots" was titled "Darlin' Nicki," and it made reference to the Blues Brothers, as I believe the author was passing through the upper Midwest. Does anyone have a scan of the "Darlin' Nicki" piece from that old edition of Powder? I can recall it pretty well from memory, but the issue of Powder it was in is currently sitting in my childhood bedroom in New Jersey, so a scan would be a hell of a lot easier.

I liked the commercial with Steve Mahre driving down the gravel 90 mph and panned the camera back to Glen Plake in a crouch in the skis in the rack on top.

Yep. I actually remember that article. It might still be at my parents place. I'll try to check when I'm back in Ottawa over the Xmas holidays. - So not much help at all, sorry.
Maybe contact Powder? They might have back issues available?

    Lyrics
I knew a girl named Nikki
I guess you could say she was a sex fiend
I met her in a hotel lobby
    Masturbating with a magazine
She said how'd you like to waste some time
And I could not resist when I saw little Nikki grind

She took me to her castle
And I just couldn't believe my eyes
    She had so many devices
    Everything that money could buy
She said sign your name on the dotted line
    The lights went out
    And Nikki started to grind

    Nikki

    The castle started spinning
Or maybe it was my brain
I can't tell you what she did to me
But my body will never be the same
Her lovin' will kick your behind
Oh, she'll show you no mercy
But she'll sho'nuff sho'nuff show you how to grind

    Darlin' Nikki

    Woke up the next morning
    Nikki wasn't there
I looked all over and all I found
Was a phone number on the stairs
It said thank you for a funky time
Call me up whenever you want to grind

    Oh, Nikki, ohhhh

    Come back Nikki, come back
    Your dirty little Prince
Wanna grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind

"Hello, how are you? I'm fine. 'cause I know
That the Lord is coming soon, coming, coming soon."
“I have a responsibility to not be intimidated and bullied by low life losers who abuse what little power is granted to them as ski patrollers.”

Yeah, that's the one. There's some priceless internal dialogue in that piece.
