Cracked my mach 1 120 at the instep. The crack is only 10 mm long atm from the edge but will probably continue to crack.

The best way to stop crack propagation in plastic is to drill a hole at the end of the crack. It eases the stress by moving it from a microscopic point to spreading it around the circumference of the hole.

Thanks for the crack advice. I'm going to push for warranty but I've no idea if it will work or not

How old are they? Shouldn't be an issue unless they're first gen Machs.

What are the changes to the women's Mach1 series going into next year? New material and ramp/forward lean?

The 70 days shouldn't matter. The fact you got a discount shouldn't matter. The dealer won't be paying for the replacement. If they were punched or ground where the break was that could be a problem. The dealer should warranty them for you, assuming he's an authorized dealer--take them back to him. Do not drill or you will void the warranty. The warranty is good for 2 years. How good Tecnica is on warranty returns I have no idea.

Yeah none of that matters... as long as there is no shoddy work done by someone in that area of the boot (doubt there was) that would have cause the crack there is no reason why they shouldn't be warrantied.

The women's Mach boots have new liners and new cuffs. The CAS material (microcell) is now slightly softer. They have some new material in the toe box to try to aid in warmth. But the biggest change is the back section of the upper cuff is now heat moldable so you can more easily accommodate all sorts of calf shapes (especially the "athletic" ones). It's pretty cool actually. Uses this different plastic that moves at lower temps. There is also now a 115 flex Mach1 Pro for women.

I heard there was a change to ramp and/or forward lean. Any details?

No change in ramp. The forward lean was changed just slightly but I don't bother even bringing it up. However the fact that the cuff is heat moldable you can change the forward lean a fair amount.

So, got the cochise 130 16/17 and they are better than last years 130s in every aspect.
But- one foot falls asleep and also the liner is quite short.

    Any ideas?

They are definitley not too roomy. Dont have to buckle up much.
Lost my foamliner of 8years, but the og liner isnt bad at all

Grind the bootboard(s) 2mm (the depth of the divots in the foam). Super fast and easy to do with the new Tecnicas, but be careful taking the bootboard out and putting it back in, they snap easily. (Make sure the shell is warm and turn the bootboard diagonally). Stretch the liner toes.

Maybe give it a few days before modifying, the liner in my 2017 120 was initially snug over instep but after four days I needed to add a 1/8" Bontex shim under the liner. Thinking about going with 3/16" after 10 or so days now.

Good point. If you haven't skied 5-6 days in the boots, don't grind yet. Most of my boots put my feet to sleep for a few days until they pack out.

Was looking for this thread before and couldn't find it. Here's my review comparing all three generations of Cochise boots: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...-120-Ski-Boots

Good answers, thanks! I skied them for four days now, no change so far,. Putting the insole out of boot for testing-no change (so no grinding). Heated them up and cranked them tonight, and will Check tomorrow.

Ok, heated up the liner which helped a lot. Definitely got much roomier, the other almost too roomy. Maybe will repeat that one.
