North exposures in area still skied well @ Crustal. With a wee bit of effort, virgin slopes got tracked in the sidecountry to much ecstasis. There was a pleasurable absence of Mountaineers in their breeding gators.

Anything with a southern exposure wasn't powder, wasn't chowder - it was louder.

A rex block is not part of the Seahawks playbook.

Great skiing in the Mission back country today. Solar aspects are developing a crust but most slopes SW through E are skiing really well. Still loose facets with no bottom.Click image for larger version.

There were some flakes at Crystal this afternoon.

    Pretty decent turns outback considering.

While AW was busy skiing facets in bowl 4, Kai and were busy testing the limits of edge angles in the sunshine. Firm grippy groomers in warm sun are a real treat, I think.

We weren't in bowl 4, skied into Swift Creek towards Ellensburg and then over on the Stemilt side. Today might be a lazy groomer day.

Sweet. FWIW I'm way more excited about that tour than skiing bowl 4. If I hike, I like new scenery.

Bowl 4 looks different when you're actually in it. There's a lot more terrain out that way than it looks. Foreshortening from the chair is deceiving.

Thanks man! A lot of time spent getting to that point. Been on a skateboard since before he could walk. Realistically we have probably spent more than 300 hours skating and snowboarding.

One of the first things he says each morning is "skate".

Woke up this morning and was surprised to see it snowing with @ 2" accumulation. Checked the telemetry at Mission and Blewett and it looked like 4-5" of new at reasonably cold temps. Took care of my errands and parental responsibilities and drove up to ski some laps in the NE backcountry. 6"+ in the lot and no wind with blues skies. Skied three laps in nice soft and fast snow. Kept it low angle because there were some sensitive windslabs on steeper wind exposed terrain Sunday afternoon and yesterday. There were a few folks out but mostly is was nice and quiet.

My trip up to White was a bust today. Chain's were required for semi's but there was one wise guy who thought he was too good for chains and he ended up sideways blocking both lanes of traffic. He drove straight into the guardrail and somehow it held and kept him from going into the river. The driver was ok but he looked like he needed to change his pants. So instead of wasting my day I turned around and went back home.

    Ha!

That's probably his daily driver. The roads were slick this morning. Every other big rig chained up miles earlier. I guess he missed the memo.

People like that need a swift kick to the nutz.
