There is still a lot of deepness to be had. I think in a tomorrow might ski better since all the runouts will be packed down or groomed. I got stuck in the flats several times which was lame.

Ditto on crystal today. I've skied more than a few days with more snow overnight, but I have never skied a deeper day. I left at 1 for some domestic duties, when northway open? I can't imagine it got hammered too badly?

I'm 6'4" and it was overhead choking on snow white room every turn in the many untouched areas. Steep was needed to link turns... not cause the snow was at all heavy, but because it was full body trenching through the snow.

It had barely snowed a flake when I went to bed and we were greeted by some of the coldest, most right-side-up snow imaginable in the PNW. It kept going through my mind that "This has to be one of the best powder days ever" so it's good to here the same from a few of you that have skied xtal more times than I.

    Other quotes:

"Watching you ski down looked like a pre-global-warming ski video from Jackson in the 90's"

*coughing* (snow too deep to breath)

My wife had to work today and is super pissed that she couldn't come. I may have to sleep on the couch.

The Little Squid got her first taste of cold powder today - lighter than I may have ever seen at Crystal. While I got the occasional face shot, she was completely in the white room. We got "lost and confused" and found our way onto Gold Hills. Incredible to share that w/ the kiddo. Skier's right along the tree line...

Crystal was as good as I've ever had it, and I've had a lot of Crystal. Tomorrow should another worthy one.

Sultan traffic lights be damned, the 2 resort didn't totally suck today. Lucked into the last parking spot in "A" lot, skipped the ticket window line thanks to a heads-up guest relations play to sling tickets for those with sufficient ca$h in hand upon arrival, and an early 7th Heaven lap to a deserted Tye Mill due to a delayed load gave-up a first chair (after substantial waiting) beneath briefly blue skies that was literally armpit deep. Bobby & Nancy gave-up the goods without lift lines, backside cracked a hair past 1:30 and ran until the usual closing time of 3:15. Conditions for the 6th day of operations were "all the way up"

    So pitted!

Agreed! Did you hit much over there? Bear Pits looked thin from afar.

So jealous. I skied Crystal maybe 7 seasons, and never saw conditions like that.

Looks like my first turns this year will be in a few weeks somewhere in Minnesota. Oh well.

Norse those look like classic powder shots from Bridger.

I toured at west, three laps and I don't think I turned once

We did 3 laps and got lots of turns on Bill Big: 12" on top of Saturday grooming. Were you in the bottomless left of PC chair?

We were popping pillows under WS. Totally unconsolidated, with a heavy mash potatoes base.

I haven't been to west since 1994. I figured that area was the steepest.

Your side may have been easier to ski.

Fucking bottomless once you easily picked through the tighter zones at top.

Yup. WS is steepest but doesn't get the windloading Dodge Ridge gets.
