There were surprisingly fun turns on little Annapurna and Aasgard pass yesterday! Got it before the rain arrived this morning.

Need to get away from things right now, and am thinking about a solo walkabout (with my pup) in the teanaways tomorrow. The only area I know really at all is the Stafford Creek- Navajo Peak area (from riding a bike there a few times). Think there is enough snow to bring skis? Think there is enough dirt to ride a bike from the top?

    Cali,

I don't know the Stafford Creek-Navajo Peak area, but I was up at Long's Pass last week and things are pretty burned off. We skied the north side down into Ingalls Creek about a 1000 feet, then came back up and strung patches together on the way back to the car. Walking started again less than halfway down. I'd guess that after this rain and warmth, very little skiing will be left, especially on south faces.

Hey I was wondering if anyone has been out around the Fuhrer Finger on Rainier lately? We're hoping to give it a shot this weekend but were wondering if it still goes? I know it's alittle late in the season but it's also a fat year so it's hard to guess. I called the ranger station yesterday but there weren't any climbing rangers in, just a volunteer and he wasn't very helpful. He just said they haven't issued any permits for it in a few weeks but didn't know much else.

The reports over the last week are very good! Should be prime around noon. Camping on the round the mountain trail Wednesday night. Halfway between the SW chutes and South Climb trail.

    That sucks.
Lesson learned. A friend of a friend was skiing right above that hole where the creek appears this last weekend. They know they dodged a bullet.

    Shit. Scary.

I believe they are referencing the Paradise visitor center, where many heading to Muir park.
