Nice day at Mission. Cold, held steady at 0F at the summit and 8 or 9F in the lot until I left at 1300. Steady NE wind at the ridgetops of 30 mph. Decent coverage, one core shot. Fresh or barely tracked until I left. Wasn't really cold smoke because the top 6-8" were faceted and in some places, full depth facets. Great skiing in spite of the occasional rock or stump, it's Mission and that's part of the bargain. If this storm brings what's forecast things will be great tomorrow through the weekend.

While not wishing to appear greedy.... this from the forecast discussion is worth keeping an eye on

LONG TERM...For next Wednesday and into next Thursday...models
are starting to hint at a system that looks very similar to the
current one examined in the Short Term discussion.

Hope to see you up there tmw.

Anyone have a ski visions flattener I can borrow stat? Hope to get the 120s skiable again before Alpy opening on sat.

My core shots are usually much more narrow and I've gotten away with a sharp metal scraper after filling but the carnage from last weekends drop to rock has some girth to it. Click image for larger version.

Which iteration of NOAA? NWAC (and everybody else) bases their forecasts on NOAA/NWS data and analysis (which, in turn, is based on analysis of GFS, ECMWF, Canadian models and submodels thereof, e.g., UW WRFGFS).

If forecasts are in disagreement or ostensibly based on low confidence, I go to NWS WA forecast discussion to see why: http://www.atmos.washington.edu/data/disc_report.html

That's not bad, I get a couple of those every season at Mission. Got one today that size. Metal grip string and a broad chisel to flatten it out. Actually with a careful hand a sureform will flatten is right out after the weld cools.

Be careful. Alpy tends to spontaneously combust Dynafits.

    No fooling...

I lived in there and skied Mt. Kato when I was 9 - 13 in the early 70's.
Back then it was all tow ropes, man that was a long time ago...

Solid three inches out in West Buttfuck, don't see this every day!

Glad I put the snows on the TurboRoo this week... goddamn I love burning around snowy streets.

    Aiming for Alpy this weekend.

Put the snows on my FXT last night, and I was glad when I woke up to 3" in Bremerton. Had a blast bombing around on my way to work. Makes me miss living in MT and driving on snow all winter!

Stevens was ridiculously dry and light today! If you know where to look, waist deep.

Abraham, Riff, 2funky and I had a killer day.

Sorry I couldn't make it, the best I could find was knee to thigh deep facets at Mission.
