Does anyone have experience with Cascade Powder Cats? Specifically their courses?

I've heard secondhand that the trips are okay. Haven't heard from anyone taking the AIARE courses but I see that one of the instructors is Oyvind Henningsen, a very accomplished ski mountaineer, guide and AIARE Level 1-2 instructor.

If you're specifically looking for something around Stevens Pass then I'd recommend North Cascades Mountain Guides they run their Avy courses at the pass - Jeff, Larry, Paul and Josh are good guys.

I'll be skiing at the Northern dead-end this Weekend Saturday and Sunday. Anybody want to ski with a solid 7/10 skier either day?

I learned to ski at Baker but haven't been there in 14 years, kind of stoked to see it through my adult eyes. Something tells me I won't find chair 5 to be as gnarly as I remember it.

Also whats the parking situation like? What time should I am to roll into the lot? HM or WS the preferred spot these days? Being a HWY2 skier I'm paranoid of not finding parking.

Nice cold day at The Ridge today. Facet factory in full effect. I don't know where the 6"+ since Sunday closing came from but it was nice. Anything tracked from last week was faceted so no frozen chunder. All in, it was a great day but we need more snow. The weekend crowd will hammer the snow.

I heard a rumor that they might open Windy Ridge and Microwave Bowl, hike to terrain, this weekend. It certainly looks good to go.

Wow it's been an amazing week of touring in WA! Another storm cycle is shaping up just in time. Highly recommend northern aspects in the cascades now that things have consolidated a bit.
