That guy is two steps away from the rubber room.
The trumpet scatters its awful sound Over the graves of all lands Summoning all before the throne

In the spirit of jinxing the ever-loving shit outta it, after looking at the 10-day models my guess is:
* Mt. Baker will open on Black Friday
* Crystal will snake Baker with a bird day offering of GV
* The Summit will hold some sort of early season rail jibber jammer the following Sat.
* Stevens will open that same Sat. but with like a rope tow park and Daisy - possibly with a side of "Hogsbackcountry"
* The Apple Cup will go into infinite overtimes with no winner and all the players will graduate before getting a chance at that Pac-12 trophy

How many of you are heading for chinook tomorrow? Pondering the length of driving vs chance of falling on rocks.

Late report from today:
Took a south turn from the White river road for something different. Found no base until 5800 ft, though the trail was (barely) skinnable at 5000 ft with the dusting. New snow amounts lower than those reported at Chinook... maybe 6-8" new at 7000 ft. Skied well where the wind hadn't fucked it. It was ripping in the higher rocks. Lil T looked like a bad bad place to be. I found and joined a few pals up in the same area who had kept higher terrain in the goal bin but had bailed at the sight of pulsing spindrift.
NE bowl of Natches should be good for those heading that way tomorrow. Suggest arcing south from Tipsoo and up the SW ridge (don't be dissuaded by the likely grim south slope below), rather than traverse under the north-facing steeps that have been loading up a bit, assuming the same winds were over there today.

Chinook was fun today. A little thin but better than yard work.

I don't think we ran into each other. We parked at the eastern most parking lot and skinned to the ridge. Snow quality was good although thin. After several shirt rocky laps we built a sweet jump on the north side. It's still there if anyone wants to get sendy.
I asked one group if they had change for a nickel but they stared blankly.

FB tells me the skiing has been quite good lately. Way to slay Norseman, hope to get out soon.

How much snow is there @ Chinook pass? Do you think it'll stay open through thanksgiving weekend? I'd really like to get in a few laps on Friday.
