I've been following the BD development. It sounds contentious. Good luck to those peeps making it through 169 in the morning.
After a stint in the front range a decade ago, I still consider the traffic to the hills and the lift lines up here to be very acceptable. Go visit the I-70 thread if you want to see a bunch of folks crying in their cheerios and feel better about your own situation.

I know I am the enemy here... CA born moving to Seattle in a few months.....
But... What would be the beta on a the season pass for a jong up there?
Alpy pass with Cascadia add on?
Is there a way to buy a $300 Cascadia pass with 3 days at Alp, Xtal, and Stevens? I could combine that with a Mountain collective and get some good traveling in....
I spent 20 years doing the HW80 HW89 Squaw weekend warrior shit show. 5 years doing the SoCal 3am 90mph HW395 run to Mammoth. I have spent quite a few days waiting in 45min lift lines. It will be interesting to see if WA skiing is similarly crowded, or you guys are just "get-off-my-lawn"ing.Best Skier on the Mountain

the skiing here is a ghosttown comparatively... with the exception of Chair 2 weekends and morning powder days. Seriously, a 10 minute lift line wait is considered outrageous. the traffic isn't as bad either, but if you go at the worng times it can be just as bad... same goes for how people drive in snow- similarly terrible.
As for what pass, depends where you will be living. I live in Bothell and will be getting a Snoqualmie Unltd pass, a Cascadia pass, and a 5 day edge card for whistler/Vail resorts.
Also, make sure to work into every conversation that you just moved from CA.

Get a pass at Mission Ridge and hike Bowl 4 every weekend.
You get unlimited free midweek tickets at Alpental as well. Plus a bunch of free tickets at some other off-beat areas. Add a Select Pass at Stevens and you can basically ski anywhere in the PNW for the cost of a gold Pass at Squaw.

there can be only 1. fight to the death, winner takes the other's ski quiver?
Where will you be living? Weekend warrior, or flexible schedule? do you enjoy groomers in shitty snow conditions or do you just consider it character building and shred the normal areas? What vibe are you looking for?
IMO, Snoqualmie is close by, gets lots of snow, the wettest snow, has very steep very tech terrain but is small, especially when the gates aren't open. Stevens has a bunch of steep, short shots that are fairly tech, with better snow generally, and a massive overcrowding issue and draws a more snowboard oriented crowd. Also can be heinous traffic coming back through monroe. Crystal is the "resort", and takes itself super seriously. Though it has the best terrain of the three (IMO by a lot), it has an attitude problem with staff and policies, and the parking situation sucks too... its also the farthest from the seattle area.

Hey, if some induhvidual wants to regularly drive 3+ hours from Seattle, like some do to Baker, I'm not going to stop them.
Statistically, I think you're out on the edges of the distribution there. But have at it.
But yes, White Pass is uncrowded, great touring, cheaper and definitely the in thing to do so you can fill out your instababble page with the rest of the in crowd cool people.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

All of them: Baker, Stevens, Alpental and Crustal.
Typing:
Baker: Dread locked hippie chick, provides lots and lots of fun. While not tall, she's amply endowed with more sweet attributes than any other.
Stevens: Seemingly uptight country clubber, but when the sweater comes off and the proper perimeters are probed, she delivers like a pizza driver on meth.
Alpental: The pierced punk rock chic: TOTALLY GNARLY and don't underestimate her spunk with only 2200 vertical. She'll slay you and her BC makes JH look like the mall.
Crustal: The prom queen who gives it out to everyone. Kinda used up, too plopular and hard to get with for a solitary moment. But o lawdee, if her social coordinator has made space, she gives it.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski
