Tomorrow, I'll be eyeing the first of many super crowded saturdays. Gonna ease into the season with a low expectation morning of touring with half of Seattle at crystal.

Requires a stoke worthy post within the new season to kick things off.
Review Ray's OP on this thread as a good example.

There were 10 people waiting in line for the gondola at 8 this morning.

It was nice and stormy up high.. good climbing snow.. the skiing not so much.

Coverage much improved from last weekend.. it's close to ready.

2funky, Kai_ski, mooseknuckle, NW_skier and I all had a great time ripping around lookout pass today. Enough snow to mostly avoid any lurking rocks and sticks. Certainly a few thin spots but if they get the forecasted snow next week I think the skiing is going to be really good up there. Definitely exceeded (admittedly low) expectations.

I was out before sun up skinning up west this morning. It was a bit icy where people had left tracks, and a layer of crust everywhere else.

^ ^ ^ We did some fishscale laps at West on Friday. It was crustier the higher we went, far from great, but one cannot be picking on Nov. 10 @ 3200'. Honey and I fishscaled Wenatchee Ridge road out of Blewett yesterday. No crust there yesterday but that may have changed today. Forecast looking ostensibly good for later this week, although the forecast discussion states that forecast is low confidence re snow locations and amounts.
