Yesss. I member when Dan Cowan left Murphy's to Chris and started up the New Melody. Spent many nights playing for dances there. The back porch was not a smoke free zone.
In drove this drunken madman and stopped on a dime! Unfortunately the dime was in Mr. Rococo's pocket!

'Memba when any binding with DIN settings >14 was colloquially referred to as a "green spring" binder?

As a second 'berry triggered by that one, 'memba "Markering out" and when Marker "green springs" could be cranked up to 30?

'Memba when Ajax was skiers only? We need more skiers only mountains.

    Skier only mountains are stupid.

Letting boarders on Ajax has had literally, zero effect. I’d much rather share a hill with ripping boarders, than clueless skiers/riders.

Thankfully the extra 100 miles from Summit/Vail screens most of them and the rest go to Snowmass or Buttermilk.

Okay, so, you're absolutely correct on all points. No argument there from me.

But, this is the nostalgia thread, so there's that.

However, I will support the boarder ban at Alta and MRG until the day I die. The day that "Alta is for Skiers" is no longer true will be the last time I ever give LiftCo a penny of my money.

Memba when the streets in the Butte were dirt and houses sold for less than $200K. Had to hike to the North Face and Headwall was out of bounds?

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Memba when no one had a clue about snow science and resorts waited until precarious ridges built up with massive cornices before dynamiting them, creating slides that took out chair towers and lift shacks with blocks of snow as big as railroad boxcars?

I happened to be walking by the Buckaroo when they were shooting a scene for the movie "Ten Things I Hate About You" there. That movie came out in 1999, so this was probably in 1998 or so.

Ski Acres, just below top of old Intermediate chair. Fucking Chicken Heads got me, sure as hell.
Butterfly fracture @ Tib, Spiral fracture @ Fib.
Old, mismatched heels & toes that dad probably fished out of a Goodwill bin.

Think he felt guilty, so next season I was rocking...wait for it...

    Spanking new 404s.

Old Atomics always remind me of Andre Arnold. Member him? Kicked ass back in the late '70s when there was a professional ski tour.

Kind of strange when a sport basically disappears. I can't even remember the last time I saw someone windsurfing.
