I remember
When the gondola fell at Lionshead (Vail)
( Dad and I were There a month earlier )
I remember

Get out there and do stuff!
Enjoy life to the fullest!!
See you on the slopes! "

When Whistler was tin cans on cable and the backside was a garbage dump & a shuttle bus you usually had to wait for. $5.00 heli lifts from mid-mtn. to the rarely skied summit.....yummhh. Yes, they did that once upon a time.

Memba when you could work 25 hours a week for $7/hr and still live in a ski town, skiing the employee pass and dumpster skis and hitchhiking everywhere and eating leftover continental breakfast from your buddy at the hotel or un-eaten fries from your buddy the dishwasher?
Once a month jumpstart the truck to drive to town to do laundry and get 10/$1 ramen noodles and a mcdonalds cheeseburger…
I memba!

Memba when lift tickets for Mt Hood Meadows were $6.00?

Of course the resort was 3 double chairs, a t-bar and a rope tow at the time…

Sent from my iPhone using TGR ForumsI need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Memba 1983/84 in Park City? Snowed 56 days > 4 inches. + 500" for the season that ended on 5/7/1984, LCC got >700" after getting > 800" the year before.
My first season out west and I thought it was always like that. 84/85 showed me how that was a stupid assumption.
Learned to ski powder 83/84 and one morning, 16" new when I had the day off and got on the ski team double at 8:00 and lapped King Con until the crowd showed up at maybe 10 o'clock.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.
"Happiest years of my life were earning < $8.00 and hour, collecting unemployment every spring and fall, no car, no debt and no responsibilities. 1984-1990 Park City UT"
