No, the dinner roll was in 2002. The judges didn't like it though and he didn't even medal with the dinner roll.

Wicket? They were stapled right on our jackets at Ski Acres in junior high, and Stevens in high school. It was a big point of pride to have a hudge(!) wad of tickets on the jacket year round.

The epic 260+ inch January of 96 in Steamboat.

It's a little strange when I remind myself that that was 20 years ago. I actually moved there that NYE when it started to snow.

I Member the big drift. Member trying to put on your Hanson ski boots when you forgot the silicone spray? Burt Bindings and freaking out people on the chair when you would blow one off of your foot while zippering moguls, pickup your foot, shake it and the ski would snap back on.

When you had no ski rack and skis were so long that you could wedge them in the back windows of the Ford Country Squire wagon with the tips and tails sticking out both sides?

When an Alpental weekday seasons pass was $60.
My housemate had a purple Saab Sonett and we'd go blasting up there at night, front wheel driving through slush passing spun outs up on the last steep part of Snoqualmie.

Skiing in the lightglare off the sleet and slop, closing it out with a beer in the bar @ 11:00.

I was making $420/month, then, rent in Wallingford was $80/month and Seattle was a lovely dump. Girls down the street squatted in an empty, unheated, no water house. They danced at the Lusty Lady and had jammy parties. We had electric jello parties and grafittied cupboards worthy of the Valley of the Kings, not to mention the pickled doll parts and circuit board art and jewelry.
