I'm memberin' purple skins with those green rubber attachments on the front. And 2.275 kHz beacons with no screen or speaker - just an ear plug, which quickly broke. You member?
And braless ladies skiing in cotton turtlenecks on spring days at Mammoth.

The epic 260+ inch January of 96 in Steamboat.
It's a little strange when I remind myself that that was 20 years ago. I actually moved there that NYE when it started to snow.dirtbag, not a dentist

I memba my first and only complete back flip on the the trail cutting across the single chair at Ski Acres. Well, not quite a complete flip as I landed flat on my back. I memba opening my eyes and seeing a crowd of people looking down at me checking to see if I was still alive.

I Member the big drift. Member trying to put on your Hanson ski boots when you forgot the silicone spray? Burt Bindings and freaking out people on the chair when you would blow one off of your foot while zippering moguls, pickup your foot, shake it and the ski would snap back on.

When you had no ski rack and skis were so long that you could wedge them in the back windows of the Ford Country Squire wagon with the tips and tails sticking out both sides?

When an Alpental weekday seasons pass was $60.
My housemate had a purple Saab Sonett and we'd go blasting up there at night, front wheel driving through slush passing spun outs up on the last steep part of Snoqualmie.
Skiing in the lightglare off the sleet and slop, closing it out with a beer in the bar @ 11:00.
I was making $420/month, then, rent in Wallingford was $80/month and Seattle was a lovely dump. Girls down the street squatted in an empty, unheated, no water house. They danced at the Lusty Lady and had jammy parties. We had electric jello parties and grafittied cupboards worthy of the Valley of the Kings, not to mention the pickled doll parts and circuit board art and jewelry.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski
