member when ski lifts didn't even go to terrain worth skiing?
and lift capacity was woefully inadequate for the number of people skiing?
Seems to me like skiing peaked in the late 90's. High speed lifts to the alpine, but fat skis hadn't really caught on yet.

I had those too; with the weird little plates attached to the heel and toe of your boot that clicked and made walking on ice even more treacherous. For what they may have saved in upward releases from backward falls, they doubled down on bruised butts. After that I had Tyrolias for a little while, then marker simplex and rotomats.

So no more singleride movietickets @ Alta? I used to trade hits of purple barrel for a handful of those things and ski for a couple of days.
