Based on my time moped-ing, I can get a similar workout on mellow trails and dirt roads - I'm pedaling about a hard as I normally would, I'm just going a lot faster. On steeper and techier trails, the workout isn't even close. I never, ever hit redline on the moped, even in "eco" mode. On an anolog bike, I'm redlined just trying to keep the bike moving up the climb. On the moped, I just kind of slowly grind away with moderate effort.
Also, I try to exclusively refer to it as a moped. Watching other ebikers get all flustered when I say that is a highlight of any ride.
Edit: where can I get one of those stickers? I want to put one on my ebike / moped.

Applications are being accepted for the E-bikes are Mopeds club. It's dedicated to raising awareness of this crucial issue that is affecting trail permitting already and will only do so much more as moped use proliferates.
To my knowledge members of the club have no problem with mopeds being used on motorized trails.
Membership includes your very own stickers, which will sadly not last long. The mopeders are, as demonstrated often, a sensitive bunch. The idea of putting the stickers behind a piece of thick plexiglass secured with tamper resistant screws has been proposed.ride bikes, climb, ski, travel, cook, work to fund former, repeat.

I'm just going to chisel it into the Navajo Sandstone, a contemporary petroglyph, if you will.

I want to apply to the club. I only ride the moped on moto legal trails, and I still think they're kind of stupid even though I also have fun on them. So I think my application should be accepted.

Is it too judgemental if I put one on my singlespeed? Or just the right amount. I'd put one on my ebike but I don't have one. Also accepting sweet ebike donations.

Did I meet you at Peavine last year? I was talking to a guy at the Hoge trailhead about routes on Peavine - guy was from Carson and was planning on riding every trail on Peavine, said he had roughed out a route and it was 60-something miles. He had a big jug of water in his car for refills mid day. And had one of those stickers on his car, which I told him I liked, and I'm pretty sure he said he made them.

Haha! That was definitely I. That ride ended up being 65mi and like 11k vert. It was super fun. I'll trade you some stickers for a bike bag one of these days. Also some fiat currency.

You guys only like the hot girls, huh.
Personally, I'm far more ecumenical in my romantic interests.

The acoustic or analog label is insane. They’re bikes. Once Tesla/ev came out did we start call cars something different?

When I eventually get an ebike, I'm totally putting an "ebikes are mopeds" sticker on the toptube, to trigger all the fat guys wearing jeans, lazily spinning their bow legs with seat halfway down.

The term "moped" has been misapplied to Vespas, which are scooters.
A mo-ped is a 2 wheeler with a motor and pedals. The OG is a Puchs, but pedal-actuated e-bikes (as opposed to those with a throttle, which are scooters) fit right into that lineage. Obviously the triggered mopeders will quibble with this, but the idea behind the sticker is to raise awareness that e-bikes are not bicycles, but rather mopeds.
As a side note, USFS has finally clarified its definitions, and it couldn't be more clear:
"Bicycle. A pedal-driven, solely human-powered device, with two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other." Emphasis is mine.

My moped’s drivetrain literally grenaded at 30mph a few weeks ago.
I pedaled it home.
There’s nothing that drops more panties than a fat old man in a high viz jacket and motorcycle helmet sweating balls pedaling those goofy little moped cranks on his broken-down moped back through the same neighborhood he just buzzed through. Easy, ladies…there’s plenty to go around!
