I ride there early morning a lot. One of the sheep dogs the other day came in behind me while the other was barking at me from the front. I picked up a rock and the herder started yelling at me. Historically they are all bark and no bite, but I'd never had them try the get you from behind thing before. I've encountered those dogs for years at the canyons and there, but that one scarred me. I think those 100# dogs would win in a battle with my old butt!!

Anyone who thinks tall socks are unacceptable needs to ride more brush.

Doughy middle aged guys in knee socks are the current version of the baggy-jersey-or-t-shirt paired with closeout Nashbar lycra shorts that proliferated in the early 2000s.

Shops around here rent full suspension ebikes and apparently don't tell entitled boomers where they're not welcome.
Which should be on every non-motorized trail. It's not, but it's definitely some. You can tell by the No EBikes signs. But I guess they're more core and local than anyone else because, in these particular douchebags' own words "we lived here 50 years ago".
Scared the new lady friend when she finally rolled up and I was having it out with them (verbally). Something about the way they tried to dismiss me really set me off. Oh, and the mopeds. Like, respect the elk, or something at least. I'm the furthest thing from a "rules are rules" person. They just didn't have enough respect to ask where they are allowed. I also told them. Fucking tired of losing trails because "elk" or "horses" or "we rode here 50 years ago".

Good fucking thing I wasn't taking a drink when I read that.

The brush is aggressive on the lesser-traveled trails of the Wasatch back. Lots of scrub oak with grabby little fingers!

I wear knee high socks on some rides. Don't care what anyone thinks. Better than my shins getting shredded by brush. Or poison oak.

And can they be rolled up and taped to the bike frame when not being worn?

No, I’m not doing that. Should be e bike yields to mtb yields to pedestrian yields to Equestrian. E bikes change the equation. I always yield to the climbing rider if he’s on a analog bike, but an e bike isn’t the same. The effort used climbing and restarting is nothing compared to a mtb.

The world needs less rules and less assholes. But, in a society that makes decisions based on negative consequences, I see neither happening.

i think those calf caressing compression socks are the rage, I've even seen pro skate boarders wear them which i don't get, I only wear a compression sock for hiking/ ski touring

the local mtn bike club gives us each a pair of brightly colored sock guy socks with every member ship which is a good driver to get people signed up

coach gave me a pair of socks that say "race clean own your victory' try to not be stoned wearing themas a sign of respect

Who the fuck is looking at other riders' socks? Just look and make sure their bike doesn't have a battery and a motor so you know whether or not to laugh them out of there.
